- Preveli Beach - Discover 3 of the most famous beaches on the south coast of Crete on a journey through the wild Kourtaliotis Gorge. Benefit from hotel pick-up, and then travel to the gorge, where you can walk down to the springs and waterfalls flowing towards the river at Preveli Beach.
Discover a unique mix of sandy beach and green river flanked by palm forests and rocky surroundings. Get some time to relax in the sun and take a dip in the sea. Continue to the popular Damnoni Beach at the exit to the valley, protected by high mountains, where you can take a boat trip to Preveli Beach.Then, go to the small resort of Plakias, situated in a natural bay, and get some time to enjoy lunch, do some shopping and go for another swim in the turquoise waters. Return back to Rethymno along a different route to experience the dramatic landscapes of the Kotsifou Gorge.

Additional Information
Embark on a guided tour to some of the top south coast beaches in Crete, Plakias and Preveli Beach. Explore the island’s stunning palm forests before unwinding on the beach! We will traverse the exotic Kourtaliotis Gorge by bus on our journey to the beaches, making a stop to admire the beautiful waterfalls and the springs of the petite river Preveli. Next, we’ll visit the sandy shores of Damnoni, from where a boat will ferry us in roughly half an hour to the acclaimed Palm Beach Preveli. After vacating Palm Beach Preveli, we’ll indulge in a traditional lunch and if desired, another dive at the scenic village of Plakias.

- At the time of booking please mention your hotel name and location. You will be notified by email about the pickup point and time
- Pickup begins up to 60 minutes before tour starts and is done from central meeting points near the hotels, only in the areas of Panormo, Scaleta, Adele, Platanias, Missiria, Rethymno town, Atsipopoulo, Kavros and Georgioupoli
- Infants will be seated with their parents on the bus and will not have their own seat

Lovely day trip to the South coast of Crete! - We had a lovely day trip to Preveli beach, Damnoni beach and Plakias beach. Barbara was our guide, she was really helpful, and her explanations and insight were all very clear and interesting. The bus was spacious enough and the aircon worked OK to keep us reasonably cool. First stop was the gorge. It was very windy on the path down to the waterfall but worth the walk down the steps! Damnoni beach was a short stop for coffee, and then the boat to Preveli beach. This was really interesting as there was a fresh water river than ran into the sea (that you could take a paddle in), along with a forest you could take a stroll through out of the sun. We then caught the boat back to Damnoni beach, then the bus straight to Plakias beach. We had a nice meal there, then some time on the beach, before we caught the bus back to Rethymno. A great day out seeing the South of the island.

Always happy! - The trip was great. There was something for everyone from A to Z. We started from our hotel (Grecotel White Palace) with a new air-conditioned biplane which was well written. The tour guide was German and English speaking so we could understand everything well and were always well oriented.
She had explained the process several times, suggested us tips and tricks and of course there should not be a little reading through the mountains.
We made three stops. Included were a gorge visit with church, three different beaches for bathing and exploring, a palm forest (natural and without admission) and a boat trip. The boat trip cost 10€ for adults and 5€ extra for children. In my opinion, there was enough time planned for each stop.
I was walking with sandals, was good for running into the gorge which goes up and down 250 stairs but to walk along the beaches and through the water flip flops are rather fitting.
We were picked up about 08.00 and were let out again at 17.50 at the same place.
I would do it again anytime and definitely recommend it. Also suitable for families with children.

Incredible day out! - This tour is absolutely incredible value for money. You get to experience three stunning beaches and drive through the Cretan mountains admiring all of the beautiful views. Not to mention the fantastic tour guide Barbara, who not only was excellent in providing information about the tour itself, but also shared interesting historic and geographical facts about Crete as well. All in all we had a wonderful day and cannot recommend this tour enough! It is a must if you're staying in Rethymno and want to explore the south of Crete!

Rethymno - After 1120 km of visit to this magnificent island I loved the people the landscapes etc Rethymnon was my favorite 😍 the old town the port a passage required zu bar in front of the beach the cactus an atmosphere and people at the top super super

Beaches, church & more beaches. - You got what it specifies. Fab day out visiting tiny churches down valleys, taking boats to hidden beaches - which had hundreds of people on it. Then we went to fab little town with another beach where we had lunch outside & another swim in the sea. Great to see more of the island of Crete, it’s a beautiful place.

Superb excursion - Very nice excursion to an enchanting site despite the many tourists. The advantage with Platanos Tours is that we get there by boat and thus avoid the more than 400 steps to get down there. Very good guide. I highly recommend.

It's beautiful but watch out it blows - Nice walk in the freshwater with palm trees on each side (length of walk, about an hour). It is a beautiful setting with a gravel beach. So plan slippers to walk in the water if you have sensitive feet. Another downside, when we went, there was a lot of wind to the point of making dust swirls on the beach. There are many shrubs and hopefully we can find a corner in the shade. Possibility to eat on site, sandwiches or fried chicken type dish. The hardest part is finding a table. We arrived by boat but there is also the possibility to get there by car along the stony path. For the record, the swell wasn't strong despite the wind. The water of this beach is a little cool, probably due to the wind, but it replenishes 😁. Maybe if you come across a less windy day, it's nicer.

For beach lovers - If you like to lie on the beach, this is a nice trip. We didn't really like it much. Fortunately, there were some terraces where you could have a drink.
