During this unique experience, you will discover pristine marine areas of the lagoon led by our qualified and passionate guides. Depending on the weather and wildlife behaviour on the day, you will visit between 3-4 spots:
First thing in the morning, you’ll head to the Manta Rays feeding ground to spot these underwater angels, before cruising to discover two renowned local coral gardens. If the conditions allow, you’ll also spend time looking for the Eagle Rays.
Your guide will jump in the water with you to point out the different species and help out where required people who are not comfortable swimmers. For people who have never snorkelled or are not confident swimmers, we recommend our private tours for a more personable experience during which the guide will be able to focus all his attention on you. Amazing Tour - A must do - This is a tour not to be missed. We had two guides, Fabien, who drove, and Tino, who snorkeled. I believe that Tino is in training. They were both fantastic. Fabien has been doing this for many years and is an excellent captain! We made three stops for coral snorkeling. They care to get you in the right spot while respecting the coral. They have a book on board and show you all the fish you will see at that stop. There are different fish in the different coral gardens, as they call them. One stop was to see Rays, which must have been 100. I do not snorkel, so I stayed on the boat, and while maybe that was not as fun for some, it was amazing for me. I could see the fish and the coral through the water even though they said it was cloudy due to the wind. They provided snorkel equipment, towels, fins, water in a big jug, and some soda and juices. If you can request Fabien and Tino, you will not be disappointed. They were so much fun!

Amazing hospitality by Nui, so lucky to see Rays! - Thank you, Nui for our snorkeling adventure back in 11/6/24! You were unbelievably patient, especially with my wife who had troubles with her mask. You are super knowledgable, know the great snorkel spots, and damn were we lucky to see a Manta Ray up close!!! I wish I could post for others to see but it is in my GoPro archive.. I promise this is a must-do excursion! Thanks for the history and culture, and we can’t wait to make our way back out to Polynesia!

Awesome Experience! - Great trip! Our guide Mana went above and beyond! We saw Manta and Eagle rays. We snorkeled at a coral garden and walked with sharks and stingrays.

The coral gardens are... - The coral gardens are AMAZING! I could have spent the whole time snorkeling in this place. Nui, wanted to make sure we saw Rays & we did! The Manta Ray put on a show for us & we searched & found many Eagle Ray! Good snorkeling gear as well!

Amazing snorkel trip - Great morning on the water with Mana and Kevin. They found all best spots for us to see Manta and Eagle Rays as well as a fabulous coral snorkel with amazing variety of fish. They were wonderful hosts!

Mantas! - We have done several tours with Reef Discovery over the 4 visits we’ve made to Bora Bora. We come to Bora Bora for the amazing snorkeling and the manta rays! During our tour, we went to two amazing coral reefs, and then went on a search for mantas and eagle rays. We saw 10 mantas, probably 60ish eagle rays, a sea turtle, and much more! A special shout-out to Kevin, our guide. He was awesome and made us all feel welcome. We will definitely book this tour next time we come back!

Great experience! - We had a great time! Thanks again to Fabien for his kindness but above all his expertise and his hint of humor!
We've seen manta rays, leopard rays, dolphins, sharks and pastenague rays. The colors of the lagoon are amazing the postcard is clearly there and the tour of the island really nice!

Solid tour focusing on eagle rays - The spots were perfect. But was hoping to see the Manta Rays and hoping for more of an effort to see them.
Otherwise, the host took us to two eagle ray spots which we had already seen and they are not as hard to find. So it seemed a bit pointless that we went to one eagle ray spot, and then later to another spot when we had not seen Manta Rays at all.
We had heard from locals and other guests that Manta Rays are best seen early in the morning, so it was a bit weird that we did not start out with that but rather with eagle rays.
The spots we hit were:
1. Eagle Rays close to Conrad.
2. Manta Ray cleaning station, no luck/spotting
3. Corral garden, which was amazing
4. Manta ray spot again, but no luck
5. Eagle rays again on another location..
The host was OK. No real enthusiasm, but maybe that is his personality. Comparing to other tours, there was less energy here and seemed like the focus was to just take us through these spots. The experience was inferior to other tours and hosts.
Nonetheless, good tour if you have never seen eagle rays. But other tours offer eagle rays, reef sharks, sting rays, and Manta rays, as well as corral gardens.
