The Marais Poitevin, a natural setting to explore by bike!
Always associated with the boat and the pigouille, the Marais Poitevin is now revealed in a new light thanks to Original Vélo Tour. In 2017, I was keen to share my passion for this unique territory with you by offering you new bike rides.
Far from the beaten track, I will take you to discover the secrets of the Marais Poitevin. Over the kilometers, you will learn everything about the history of this vast marsh, its fragile and rich ecosystem, as well as the architectural heritage that characterizes it.

You will find my truck in the parking lot. I will wait for you there. If you have some difficulties, it is not very far from the Le Marais Sauvage campsite.

Excellent - To do without any hesitation. Beautiful walk, out of time with Damien our Guide who transmits historical gastronomic and environmental information...with a touch of humor.

A superb walk to recommend absolutely - Thank you Damien for this bike ride in a beautiful setting under a beautiful sun.

Thanks Damien! - You have to love the story, but it was our case and we enjoyed it very much.
The guide (necessarily the one you will have because it is his little box) has a real expertise on the marsh, it is very nice.
And when it's hot, it's perfect because we're pretty much in the shade.
To be combined with a visit to the marshes by boat (45 min is enough, even without a guide), because it is really different as an experience.

A calm morning full of discoveries. - Very pleasant stroll without difficulty along the canals and the Sèvre Niortaise. The friendly guide taught us lots of things about the past and present of this atypical region. and to charm us, pretty little “maraichine” cows, oxpeckers, and a large bird that we usually see in another region of France. The place is off the beaten track and worth the detour.
