• Lagos de Covadonga - Originally known as the Covadonga Natural Park, this was Spain’s first National Park. In 1995, it was renamed the Picos de Europa National Park and designated as a Biosphere Reserve.

• Basilica de Santa Maria la Real de Covadonga - The Basilica of Santa María la Mayor de Covadonga is a must-visit on the tour. Highlights include La Campanona, a massive bell weighing 5,000 kilos, and the crypt. Don’t miss the Obelisk, where legend has it that Pelayo was declared King. Prepare to hear some fascinating tales!

• Cangas de Onis - Cangas de Onís is renowned for its bridge, adorned with the Victoria Cross hanging from its arch, a symbol of the council. The church tower, standing at 33 meters with 6 bells across 3 floors, is also noteworthy. Enjoy leisure time exploring the streets or sampling the famous Asturian cuisine. Perhaps a cachopín with patatines? And certainly, don’t leave without “taking a culín.”

• Lastres - As we travel along the Asturian coast, we’ll enjoy panoramic views of the beaches of La Espasa, La Isla, and La Griega, all must-sees on the Asturian coast. Our journey concludes in Lastres, one of Spain’s most picturesque villages, where we will relish the local charm and its stunning elevated viewpoint. The vistas are truly breathtaking!

The tour will commence when the guides collect participants from the designated meeting point early in the morning, ensuring an early arrival at the Lakes of Covadonga to maximize the day’s experiences.

The first stop will be at the Mirador de Entrelagos, where participants can admire the stunning views of Lake Ercina and Lake Enol. The guide will enrich the visit by sharing the history of Spain’s first national park. The journey will then continue to the Basilica of Covadonga, an awe-inspiring structure.

Participants will also visit the Cave of the Virgin of Covadonga, known as the Cave, which houses the carving of La Santina. A lunch break will be taken in Cangas de Onís, offering the opportunity to savor traditional Asturian cuisine or explore the city at leisure.

The tour will provide panoramic views from the bus of the beaches of La Espasa, La Isla, and La Griega. The final stop will be in Lastres, where participants can enjoy the town and its magnificent viewpoint.
