- Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign - The iconic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign is a fantastic spot for a memorable photo.
- Boulder City/Hoover Dam Museum - This outstanding, easy-to-navigate, free museum is filled with displays as impressive as those at Hoover Dam. This is because all the workers who constructed Hoover Dam resided in Boulder City, where Hoover Dam is officially located. Open every day of the year, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Hemenway Park - This scenic public park, with its lush green grass overlooking Lake Mead in the desert, is often visited by wild bighorn sheep descending from the mountains. Definitely worth a visit for the stunning views and wildlife encounters!
- Hoover Dam Lookout - Offers a complete view of Hoover Dam from the Arizona side. It’s worth the drive over the rim to experience this perspective, which is not visible from the Nevada side.
- Hoover Dam - Recognized as one of America’s greatest engineering achievements, this landmark is both a historical site and a massive, operational dam. A must-see in your lifetime. Visitors can explore the premises for free or opt for paid guided tours.
Parking Fee $10 (with an option for free parking)
- Mike O’Callaghan - Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge - Known locally as the Hoover Dam Bypass bridge, it is one of the tallest bridges globally, towering over Hoover Dam. For those daring enough to walk across, it offers a bird’s-eye view of Hoover Dam from nearly 900 feet above! Informative boards along the switchback ramps provide photos and descriptions of the bridge’s construction. Worth a visit! There is no admission fee, and parking is free.
- Lake Mead - Lakeview Overlook - Located off Rt. 172 along the Historic Railroad Trail, this overlook provides a panoramic view of Lake Mead from above the marina.
- Historic Railroad Trail Access - A highly recommended hike through historic railroad tunnels used to transport supplies to Hoover Dam during its construction. The trail is easy and flat but long, extending 7.5 miles round trip to Hoover Dam. However, it’s worth doing at least 2 miles round trip to pass through the first couple of tunnels before turning back. Avoid hiking during hot, sunny days from May through September, except in the early morning before 10 a.m. Trailheads are accessible from the Visitor Center and an adjacent parking lot.
- Boulder Beach - This mile-long shoreline along Lake Mead is perfect for swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, or simply enjoying the lake and mountain views while collecting shells.
- Sunset View Scenic Overlook - As you travel along Lakeshore Road, take in the breathtaking beauty of Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Head up to Sunset Overlook to fully appreciate the stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
- 33 Hole Overlook - A moderate hike with a challenging scramble at the start to descend into the canyon, covering 2.2 miles round trip. Witness dramatic, winding canyons below Lake Mead’s high water line as water levels have receded. Owls occasionally roost in the slot canyon. To reach the trailhead, follow signs for 33 Hole Overlook off Lakeshore Road. The trailhead is in the first parking lot on the left. The unmarked trailhead for Owl Canyon is next to the second picnic shelter. Even if not hiking, stop at this overlook for the view, then continue to 33 Hole Overlook for another beautiful vista.
- Northshore Road - A breathtaking drive featuring volcanic lava-topped and red rock mountains, along with stunning desert views. Drive at least a portion of this road if time permits.
- Little White Wedding Chapel - A must-see in Vegas! The famous Little White Chapel, where numerous stars have eloped, is located along the iconic Las Vegas Boulevard, just minutes from the renowned Stratosphere. This is a fascinating piece of Downtown Vegas history. Parking is free, and visitors can walk in to take a look during open hours at no charge.
- The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower - The Strat Observation Tower has been consistently voted “Best Place to View the City.” Standing at 1,149 feet tall, The Strat (also known as the Stratosphere) offers expansive, 360-degree views of the Las Vegas Strip and valley from both indoor and outdoor observation decks.
