The excursion lasts approximately 30 minutes and ventures through the barren landscapes of Gran Canaria. Our tranquil camels are at your disposal to ride - but don’t fret. They feature cozy double-seater saddles positioned on their sides, avoiding the hump.

Feel the Sahara desert’s essence as you journey on our docile camels, escorted by our Saharawi guides. Besides, these camel adventures in the dunes have been recognized as a Cultural Heritage of the region.

  • For comfort of the camel, passengers weighing more than 110 kg will not be able to make the ride.
  • Important to arrive between 9 am and 11 am to avoid long queues.

Great experience 😃 - Great experience, really made our day. The whole family enjoyed it and it’s given us all a lovely memory of time spent together. The camels seemed well cared for. We visited Gran Canaria as part of our cruise so had to organise our own transfer from the port which was more expensive than expected. The taxi drivers like to haggle!

Great experience - It was a lovely experience. The camels also seemed quite happy. I would definitely recommend doing this at least once. We went in January, so we didn’t have to wait long to ride the camels (~20 mins).

Camel safari trip - Booked our tickets through trip advisor which was very easy to do! Messaged the company to ask what time was the best time to come and had an answer very promptly advising to come early. Got a taxi from our hotel and arrived at 8.40 am and we were 2nd in the queue. Staff opened the gate at 9 am we went to register and was on the camels by 9.15. Fantastic trip through the dunes, really enjoyable! With the option of buying a picture at the end for £5 which is very reasonable compared to other trips we have been on . Very highly recommended thank you

Good. - We booked online and went first thing. Once you get there you get a number and you have to wait your turn. They have shaded areas for waiting. The animals look well looked after and the staff very loving to the animals. Good experience. Recommended

Nice camel ride. - 30-minute tour of a small part of the Maspalomas Dunes because they are very large. Well organized tour, children can be alone (without adults) on the camels. 30 minutes is good for discovering without it being too long. In short, nice for a family discovery of camels.

I EXPECTED BETTER - Very nice experience, my daughter had a lot of fun! But honestly I really expected something more! Prices €15 adults €10 children, expensive for what they offer you. I was expecting a tour on real dunes and not on a simple organized route, the tour only lasts 30 minutes, honestly there are more beautiful places and things to do and see but all in all it can be done!

Animal cruelty at its best - Horrible Was told online weight limit was 110kg to find out on day it was changed to 100kg meaning one of our party couldn’t ride by 2kg The camels where hit constantly as they didn’t want to walk faster seems a cruel practice in todays world and seemed to be unhappy wearing makeshift chicken wire muzzles would not recommend at all you don’t go over the dunes just the public foot way in the scrubland next to it

Underwhelmed - An underwhelming experience. The only fun part was trying to stay balanced when the camel stood up and laid down. The walk was through the scrubland rather than across the beautiful dunes. The pace was very slow and the camels were lashed together and muzzled with a sort of cage. Their joints looked like they spent a long time on their knees so they were stiff. Queuing was disorderly and one of the organisers took photos of each camel rider but there was no instruction as to whether they could be purchased. A little information about camels would also have made for a more interesting experience. It's not something I would do again in a hurry.

Just leave and don't support! - We were honestly shocked!! The camels are in a bad condition - both physically and mentally. They are not cared for and the humps have completely disappeared due to the seat frames. The animals are tied together extremely tightly. When a camel tried to stand up, it was brutally pulled to the ground and even more brutally tied to the ground. Even the camel's bellowing only caused the animal trouble and amused the spectators waiting for their ride. They were obviously not aware of the animal cruelty taking place here. The animals do not get enough water and have no space and are kept in the worst conditions. No one should book here to make it clear to the operator that animals need to be treated and cared for better and not treated like any old thing! In addition, all of the animals were wearing muzzles that were far too small...
