Beautiful Safari adventure - This tour has been a unforgettable adventure. It gives a short glance of the beautiful landscape and culture of northern Ghana. Our guides have been extremely nice and helpful. We felt secure throughout the whole trip and can recommend doing a tour with the grassroot team.

Best tour with the best guide! - My brother and I went to Mole with our guide Isaac, who exceeded ALL of our expectations! He accepted to take us on a tour the evening before we would have landed in Tamale (due to our las tribute planning). We were able to make the best of our time there seeing many different birds, elephants almost every day, lots of antelopes, hippos and crocodiles. If you feel like going on a tour into the beautiful nature Ghana has to offer and making a new friend along the way, then Isaac is your guy :) Thanks for everything Isaac!!

Best tour guide ever - Isaac - Isaac made the 4 days at Mole National Park into a dream vacation. Anything we needed he was happy to accommodate and always with a smile. We had some issues with the hotel we stayed at, but Isaac was on top of the problem within minutes and we came to a great resolution. Isaac is incredibly knowledgeable of the area and took us to see some local villages and meet the people. We saw elephants, baboons, warthogs, Nile crocodiles, many different types of antelope and innumerable birds. I would highly recommend the Hippo sanctuary tour (though it is a whole day trip from Mole, about 6 hours of driving total). Isaac made sure we had a fabulous time anywhere we were. I highly recommend asking for Isaac if you are taking a tour with Grassroute Tours, we could not have asked for a better person to lead us into the unknown.

Magnificent Mole - a great 4 day tour in Ghana - Originally my trip to Ghana wasn’t going to include the north, I’m so glad I changed my mind as it made the whole trip! The majority of things went according to plan, Isaac was friendly, accommodating, understanding but most importantly reliable, honest and trustworthy. He enabled our trip to go smoothly, giving us advice and pointing out birds/animals along the way. We were so lucky to have seen elephants multiple times and also the hippos, it was amazing to see/hear them in the wild. Mole hotel/motel/safari lodge (it was described in multiple ways) was basic but we made it work. It often has large groups, some of which are school kids and they will likely keep you awake. If we’d realised this we might have spent a bit more money at the private lodge down the road. This is a developing part of the world, sometimes things don’t go according to plan but having a reliable tour company on side will seriously help make your trip special.

Would definitely recommend! - Just got back from a four day trip with David. The whole time he always put my interests first, which made for an incredible trip. For example, we could see some elephants in the park from the motel viewpoint. Without asking he was already making arrangements with the ranger for us to join the ranger to join his tour up close to see them and what an incredible moment it was. So thank you to David and his kind nature and experience for making a lifetime memory!

Best tour guide ever - If you want the full safari experience, these guys know what they’re doing! The communication was great, the crew is very helpful, friendly and professional and the planning was really thought through. There is room to make adjustments in your plans, if you’d like to. We were picked up with a nice van in Tamale and went straight to Mole motel. The motel is nicely located centered in the park where the baboons are curiously walking around and the pool has an amazing view over the park, with a beautiful sunset. We settled down and ended our first day with a car safari and saw lots of interesting animals and got very close to an elephant. The next morning we did a walking safari which made you really go into the deep wildernis and take a good look at a broad variety of antilopes, baboons, elephants, birds and crocodiles. Later that day we got picked up with the van to go and visit a small village where we saw the process of making shea butter and were taught about the treatments from the local herbalist. We decided we wanted another car safari after and that was no problem. We had a nice dinner and some drinks to end the day, but headed to bed early to go see the hippos the next morning. Unfortunately we didn’t see any hippos, yet everybody said it was very rare to NOT see them. But that didn’t bother us. The boat tour on its own was a great experience. We spend the afternoon relaxing at the pool and chatting with some of the rangers and our tour guide. The last morning we went to see the mosque in Larabanga which is a must see. Unfortunately you cannot enter if not muslim, but the outside of the building is too beautiful to not capture on camera. We grabbed lunch with our lovely tour guide before they dropped us off at the busstation in Tamale. He even helped us to get a car to Kumasi. All in all, we had a great time and would really recommend people this organization. They took really good care of us, had lots of knowledge and really met our preferences.

Beyond satisfied with this tour - This tour was amazing and Isaac the guide were so helpful and so professional. We are so pleased with the tour from the beginning to the very end. Beyond the tour Isaac helped us to book transport to our next destination and we are so grateful for that. He even drove us to the bus station 5 am the day after the tour had ended, just to help us on the right vehicle.

60 solo female - I thoroughly recommend Grassroot Tours for travel in Ghana. Isaac was a wonderful guide. He's friendly, professional and had all the answers to my questions. He looked after the big things as well as the little things like finding snacks. He was endlessly patient with my many requests to stop so I could photograph every little village mosque. The day trip to Wechiau Hippo Sanctuary was the highlight. I was lucky enough to see some hippos but paddling up that remote river felt like a proper adventure just by itself.
