Immersive experience into South Africa’s cultures. - This cultural gem should not be missed if you are visiting in the area. The tour was very interactive and there are some great souvenirs to be bought at the gift shops. We acquired great insight into the customs, traditions and languages of this guided tour. Overall 5 star experience.

Absolute must visit in Johannesburg - The transport as well as the experience itself made for an amazing trip to the cultural village. The tour guide was outstanding and provided extensive information about the five tribes, their historical backgrounds and their various customs. This experience offers great value especially for families.

Enlightening yet fun experience -
- The moment we arrived, we were thrown into a culturally historic world where we were educated about the various traditions of the Zulu, Xhosa, Pedi, Basotho, and Ndebele tribes. We enjoyed the village tour because it was quite interactive-there were so many opportunities to join the culture ourselves. The traditional dances and music that accompanied the shows were so spirited, making it all the more real.

Lesedi Cultural Village - I went on the Lesedi Cultural Village tour and the highlights of the tour was when we encountered an unexpected rainstorm during the outdoor cultural performance of what could have been a disruption was turned into a memorable moment by our guide,
John and staff of Moafrika Toufs. He quickly adapted the program, moving us to a covered area and seamlessly incorporating the rain into the storytelling and dance. His quick thinking and expertise ensured that we still had an incredible experience, and we even got to learn about the significance of rain in African culture Thank you John for your quick thinking and Moafrika Tours for the planing that was in place.

Disappointing and Unauthentic - The driver who picked us up from our hotel was wonderful. He was conversational and gave us information about the city on our hour drive to the Lesedi Village. Unfortunately, once arriving at the village, the experience was not at all what we were anticipating. The entire experience is a staged reenactment and resembles what one might do on a school field trip. While some of the actors did a nice job, several seemed uninterested. Many of the activities of the day seemed like a money grab, where tips were being requested and we were being approached to purchase DVDs and CDs of the music and dancing. We were hoping for a more authentic experience while in Africa. If you are interested in the historical culture of the South African tribes, I would recommend a museum instead.
