- Kilim Karst Geoforest Park - Embark on a boat journey along the winding Kilim River, navigating through the intricate maze formed by the aerial roots and dense leaves of the mangrove trees. This delicate ecosystem supports a diverse array of species in the Andaman Sea, and we often spot various mangrove-dwelling animals. We’ll also explore how the mangrove environment supports cottage industries like fish farming. Our first stop involves the boatman stopping the engine and tossing chicken pieces into the water to attract eagles. Soon, you’ll witness eagles swooping down to snatch the chicken pieces, soaring back into the sky with their catch. As we leave the mangroves, you’ll see impressive limestone rock formations and sea stacks rising dramatically from the ocean. These ancient coral structures, thrust into the sky millions of years ago, host a unique and ancient group of plants found nowhere else on earth.
- Gua Kelawar (Bat Cave) - Next, we’ll explore the dark bat caves, rich with legendary tales of mystery and romance.
- Kilim Karst Geoforest Park - We’ll visit a modern floating fish farm and a local fish farm as part of the tour. Our boat will drop you off at the floating fish farm in a secluded cove surrounded by towering limestone and granite cliffs. You’ll have plenty of time to observe the stingrays and other sea creatures kept in the ‘tanks,’ but we won’t spoil the surprise—it’s well worth the visit. After a half-day of new experiences, the boat will return to the jetty, and the driver will take you back to your original hotel or port pickup location.
