All-round carefree package with orangutans and jungle action - Picked up from the airport and straight into the adventure – it couldn’t be easier! Even before we were even in the jungle, thanks to WhatsApp, we always had a contact person who responded feeling faster than Google. Our guide Nassir was great: funny, relaxed, and as soon as it came to animal welfare and nature, suddenly serious – just as it should be. While other guides (unfortunately real) kicked trees to get orangutans moving, our guide was clear: Nature is respected here. The food? A small feast in the jungle: first fresh fruit, then Nasi Goreng, and just before rafting another round of fruit – like having an invisible jungle chef with you. The rafting itself was the crowning achievement: Water, action, and lots of fun. Conclusion: If you really want to see orangutans without show tricks at the expense of the animals, this is the place for you. Nassir = legend. Nature = respected. Adventure = included.

Jam packed day trip in the Sumatran jungle - Really nice and helpful guides, some of the terrain was quite a challenge but they spent the whole day making sure we had help when we needed it. Really good lunch, charmingly presented - it was really striking that every last fragment of uneaten food was carefully taken out of the jungle. The respect for the wildlife and the habitat was apparent. The wildlife speaks for itself of course. A swim at the end and short whitewater raft home was fun. Worth every penny, thoroughly recommend.

Perfect 1 Day Trip with very kind guide Nurdin - We did a one-day trip and are very happy with how it went! The organization from Bendy was smooth and easy from start to finish. The pick-up, tour and the return to Medan were perfectly organized. Even though we only spent a day in the forest, we saw many Orangutan and other animals.  Special thanks to our guide, Nurdin, who showed us good spots to take photos and was always checking the surroundings for something interesting, as well as sharing facts about the animals and the forest! :)  As a snack, we had fresh fruits and for lunch some delicious vegetarian Nasi Goreng in the jungle. I can really recommend doing a tour with Trekking Orangutan Sumatra and, in doing so, supporting the local guides! We did a one-day trip and are very happy with how it went! Your chance to spot wild orangutans before it’s too late - We booked a one day tour to see the orangutans. The tour started around 9 am in Bukit Lawang and ended at 4 pm, we managed to see three orangutans which was very amazing. The trek in the jungle is hard but doable, bring a lot of water and a good mosquito repellent. The guys at Sumatra Orangutan Trekking were super nice and available for any question. The only negative thing, which is not the fault of Sumatra Orangutan Trekking but it’s a general problem, is that there were too many people in the jungle. Around the same orangutan there were maybe 50 people, all with cameras and at a close distance, which is not very ethical. I had hoped that the access to the park was limited to only a number of people per day, but I’m afraid it is not the case. Nonetheless, it was a great experience :)

Nice experience, friendly staff - 4-hour trek with wife and children aged 6 and 9. Seen orangutan alpha. Tubing on the river. Eaten well (rice and vegetables). Friendly staff. I recommend to bring the costume because we got all our clothes wet and the next morning they were not dry and we had to go to the airport

Tour to see orangutans in natural habitat - I was very well served from the start to the end of the tour. The agency provided the transfer, accommodation and food. The guide was very interested and knew the place very well. I highly recommend!

Amazing trek - Me and my 3 friends went on a (private group) 1 day trek with Doni and Nata. The trek is highly recommend. We saw five orangutangs, different kind of monkeys, birds and other animals. Doni and Nata made the whole trip really good. They were super helpful, kind, informative, and you could feel how much they respect the animals and the jungle. The trek and Doni and Nata gets 5 stars ✨

Unforgettable experience in the jungle of Sumatra! - We had a spectacular adventure with Sumatra Orangutan Trekking: two days and one night immersed in the wilderness, accompanied by our guides Karan and Ari, who were exceptional. During the trek we were lucky enough to spot many animals, including the incredible orangutans in their natural habitat – an emotion that we will cherish forever! Eating breakfast in the jungle and sleeping surrounded by the sounds of nature is an experience I wish to anyone who loves nature and adventure. Everything was perfectly organized and safe, but without ever losing authenticity and contact with the environment. A special thanks goes to Dedek, who supported us from the very first moment: he arranged for us private transportation from the airport, found us hotels and also took care of the transfer to our next stop, Berastagi. Always available, kind and professional. Thank you very much to the whole team: you are fantastic! Highly recommended!

Great trip with a super guide team - We had a great trip on jungle trekking. We were a small group of 2 families, and had a fantastic guide team, Nasir (super good and good at informing along the way) and Memet (eminent oramgutang spotter). We were lucky to see several orangutans, including a nice han who sat just 10 meters from us. The trip is not too difficult to walk, as it goes up and sometimes steeply down, but the experience was worth all the strabbads

To be redone but with more awareness - Very tiring trekking especially in the second part of the day where we did not see orangutans but walked in very steep climbs and descents without seeing animals, only trees. Of orangutans we saw 6/8 very beautiful but be careful not to get too close because they attacked a person in the group. Good food but day after vomiting and diarrhea. We brought the water. Our guide very kind and helpful. Very high price, 70 euros is a huge amount compared to the local cost of living. Experience to be redone but maybe for only 3 hours and bringing your own food.
