Swayambhunath - Known to Westerners as the Monkey Temple due to the numerous monkeys residing there, Swayambhunath offers a variety of art and architecture, along with a breathtaking view of the Kathmandu Valley from its western hillock. Visitors can observe many pilgrims lighting candles and worshiping Lord Buddha. The Swayambhunath Stupa features the eye print of Lord Buddha, symbolizing peace and knowledge.
Boudhha - This is the oldest and largest stupa in the valley, constructed in the 5th century. Originally named “Khasa,” it was later renamed Bouddhanath by the government. Built by the Lichhabi dynasty, the stupa also features the eye print of Lord Buddha, representing peace and knowledge.
Patan Durbar Square - Situated in the heart of Lalitpur, this square is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The main attraction is the ancient royal palace where the Malla Kings of Lalitpur once resided. The area is rich with temples and idols, and visitors can explore the Newari lifestyle, cuisine, and culture. The museum, with its collection of ancient artifacts, is also worth a visit. Seti River Gorge - Formed by the Seti River, this gorge is a major attraction in Pokhara. “Seti” means white in Nepali, and the river’s white waters are a sight to behold. The gorge offers a stunning view of the deep chasm carved by the river’s swift flow.
Sunrise view from Sarangkot Hill and drive/fly back to Kathmandu and Farewell
Thamel - Early in the morning, head to Sarangkot Hill for a sunrise view, then return to the hotel for breakfast. Travel back to Kathmandu by tourist bus, private car, or flight (additional cost).
