The experience provides a... - The experience provides a basic knowledge about galaxies, stars and planets. We saw fiew specific stars and learned about their location in the sky, related to navigation and time and distance from earth. Daniel was an excellent guide. He explained all the topics very clearly and was open for questions. We had a chance to view several stars with the telescope. Highly recommended tour for people without a deep knowledge in southern hemisphere astronomy.

Silver River Star Gazing Experience Lake Tekapo - Amazing star gazing tour! They thoughtfully provided jackets as it got really cold even in summer at about 8 degrees C on the hill. Our guide Sam had so much to share and we had a clear night to see the constellations. Highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic Stargazing - Stargazing is a must in Lake Tekapo. I felt that it was reasonably priced and the stars were beautiful. Even though when we went and it was windy and the moon was quite bright we could see a lot and it was beautiful. Our guide Dan was great. He was able to answer any question and gave us a great entertaining presentation. We were able to look through a magnificent telescope multiple times as there were only about a dozen of us in our group. Definitely was a highlight of our entire trip to New Zealand. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Full moon illumination - We thoroughly enjoyed the star gazing experience even with a full moon trying to dominate and illuminate the evening! Our guide was knowledgeable and welcoming. We would recommend especially when the moon is less visible so you get to see the Milky Way.

Incredible experience - The first time we attended it was cloudy - after being given the option, we went up to the crater to see if it would clear up - when it didn't, we were given the option of refund or rebooking - they were very accommodating. We rebooked for the next night, and were glad we did! It was completely clear and the views of the night sky were incredible, both by eye and through the telescope. Our guide Adrien was excellent - he was incredibly knowledgable and had a contagious enthusiasm for astronomy. We were lucky as well to see a hint of Aurora Australis. Also included was a photo of us under the stars - a great souvenir. Overall would definitely recommend!

Great trip, we were unlucky with weather but would rebook 100% - Sadly the night we booked the weather did not cooperate, but in spite of that our guide took us up and explained a few interesting things while we waited for the sky to hopefully clear up a bit. It didn’t, so we headed back down, but we got a full refund and I would certainly rebook the experience as he was so competent and friendly and a professional astronomer.

Not worth the $$ - The guide pointed out the southern cross, two planets, Orion’s Belt, and the cloud of Magellan. There was no story telling. The group was so large that you only look through the telescope a couple times. I would recommend using the SkyView app instead.
