• Adventures of Jean Lafitte - Embark on an exploration of a 20,000-acre (8,095-hectare) expanse of tidewater cypress swamp near the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. Glide leisurely in a flat-bottomed boat through the shallow marshes. Discover bayous adorned with moss-covered cypress and tupelo-gum trees as the captain highlights a remarkable array of wildlife. Expect to see numerous alligators during the warmer months (and on warmer days in winter), some basking on logs! The guide might even feed the alligators, providing fantastic photo opportunities. Keep an eye out for turtles, snakes, egrets, herons, and ibis. You might also spot a hawk, owl, or bald eagle. In cooler months, watch for white-tailed deer, raccoons, and the large rodents known as nutria.

In case you choose the option to drive yourself, note that there won’t be any hotel pickup. If you opt for the option including pickup, it will commence approximately an hour and 15 minutes before the tour starts.
