Additional Information

Joining our guide at the port signals the beginning of our enchanting journey. Our first point of transit is the train station in La Spezia, which we’ll head to on foot. From here, we catch the upcoming train to the charming town of Manarola, the starting point of our invigorating trek. Upon reaching the misty mountain tops and commencing our descent towards Corniglia, we get to enjoy the delightful charm of this quaint village perched over 100 meters above sea level. Explore the heart of Corniglia by meandering through its cozy narrow lanes as you rest ensue for the adventure ahead. Post lunch, we make our way to the train station once more for our subsequent journey to Vernazza, an idyllic spot to unwind and appreciate the mesmerizing landscape. Ultimately, we march towards Riomaggiore where you are gifted with leisure time to stroll amidst its compact lanes and savor the beauty around. Take in the remarkable structural design of Riomaggiore and the panoramic view of the Cinque Terre Gulf from the scenic terrace located here.

  • Consider that the maximum height during the trekking is 1000 ft and the climb is very steep
  • We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes for walking
  • The order of visits may change
  • We recommend you bring water, sunscreen, and a cap
  • Keep in mind that the trails to hike are hard but not impossible. Since the beauty of the area lies in its nature, you won’t find handrails or safety rails even when the steps formed by the rocks of the mountain are inclined or when the path is near to the edge of the cliff. For the above mentioned reasons, this tour is not suitable for kids under 8 years old
  • In case the original itinerary cannot be carried out due to major causes such as weather and/or road conditions, CiaoFlorence can modify the itinerary with alternative solutions by train

Highly recommend - This was one of the best parts of our 8 day vacation. It was breathtaking. The views were amazing, and the tour guide was INCREDIBLE. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We had one other family in our group and she was flexible with the schedule based on what we wanted to do. It was a tough hike, so wear good shoes! Would recommend this if you're active and want to explore Cinque Terre on a time crunch (we did this as a shore excursion from our cruise).

Holy crap! But WOW! - Fantastic!! The hiking was a little bit hard for us, but once at the top, the view was worth it and good surprise at the top with a wine stand to celebrate the hardest part of the hike. The villages are really beautiful and nice show and restaurants.

Some of the best views ever. - Extremely beautiful hike, the tour guide made it feel like I was hiking with a friend not a tour guide, it was a hard hike, but I don't think normally it is that hard. Tbh I expected a hard hike and I wanted that so I'm happy, would most definitely recommend. Tour guide was great

Spectacular experience - Well organized company and outstanding guides, Excellent communication. Our hiking tour was canceled less than 24 hours of our tour due to our guide contracting Covid 19. The company was very proactive an gave us options to either cancel or be added to another excursion into Cinque Terre. We continued onto a different excursion that was an experience of a lifetime. Highly recommend this tour company

Cinque Terre tour! - What a great day visiting 3 of the 5 towns of Cinque Terre via train! Our guide, Sonia, was amazing! She was so kind and patient and did such a great job managing such a large group! It was very crowded but she made sure we were all taken care of and made it safely to each city and back. The towns are breathtaking and absolutely worth visiting! Highly recommend this tour!

Hike swotch to Train Tour Turns out ok - Actually, route had a hiking tour canceled because they said the guy was sick but we suspect that the origin of people who signed up. Actually turned out just fine because they asked if they could switch us to the Limoncini tour that visited three out of the five villages in the Cinque Terre. Because if the switch we had to return earlier than the rest of our group, and they arranged for us to meet up with another target that actually was on our ship. All in all, we found the guides to be helpful, knowledgeable, and very resilient. We are Visited Riomaggiore, Monterosso in Vernazza. The one thing we would suggest is that if you have difficulty walking a mile, this is not the tour for you as you walk about 30 minutes from where the shuttle in the port dropped you off to the train station and there is still quite a bit of walking on the tour. This is perfect for us, but we noticed others who are older, not quite as fit, struggling a bit.

It was very good but group was too large! - We originally booked the hiking tour, but it was cancelled and we were offered this tour. The group was too large, 24 people. Largest she had ever had! It impacted the train and reduced the allotted time in each village. Some of the people were very slow walkers and group was combined with Spanish and English. The tour guide was excellent though, informative, knowledgeable, patient and managed to speak to the group in both languages. This often delayed the group in free time as we had to wait for the talking points of interest to be completed before exploring. We had less than 30 mins in the first village as we arrived too late due to waiting on group to arrive. Overall, I would recommend but these villages are extremely busy with tourists and it would be best to have a few days to explore them.

Worst experience, - a very dangerous activity hiking vertically 400 m in elevation in 35 degree heat. No detail or effort rating given on website to determine fitness suitability. Don’t waster your time. Catch the train from town to town, you will be better off
