- Quartier Saint Nicolas - We walk through this bohemian neighbourhood discovering some of its unique boutiques and bars along the way.
- Eglise St-Sauveur - We stop outside the famous relic of La Rochelle and great example of the effect of the iconoclastic wars.
- Quartier du Gabut - We pass through here towards the end of our tour and see if there is anything interesting happening at the famous Guingette!
- Phare du quai Valin - We stop at this lighthouse and discuss the importance the two lighthouses had on maritime navigation in La Rochelle.

A worthwhile walking tour of La Rochelle. - We really enjoyed the walking tour of La Rochelle. John our guide was excellent. He gave us a comprehensive historical, geographical and architectural insight of the city. The walk itself was pleasant, easy accessible and very good value for money.

Recommended to get to know La Rochelle - I booked this tour for my first morning in La Rochelle. I didn’t know much about the city, so my goal was to learn more about it and find out things to see and do. John was a fantastic guide and for 2 hours he brought me up to speed on the history of La Rochelle and the places of interest to visit and restaurants to try over my stay. I enjoyed this tour so much I booked a different tour with John for the following day.

Informative yet relaxed, conversational tour - John is an informative and friendly guide. We did the two hour walking tour which was pretty much the right duration. Whilst there was lots of information to absorb John delivers in an easy, conversational manner. We would certainly recommend John’s services for those seeking an English speaking guide and the right balance of historical and contemporary information about La Rochelle.

Excellent guided tour - John was very professional and patient. He was knowledgeable about more than just the local features of the sights but also great context about what we were looking at. The pace and amount of information was just right without being overloaded with facts. Overall a well spent 2 hours

John is a wonderful, fun and knowledgeable guide that knows the history and points of interest of La Rochelle - John knows so much history of La Rochelle and packed a great deal of information in the time we were with him. So many points of interest, delivered with enthusiasm and humor. He asked us questions about our interests and was genuinely interested, We have been on many tours through our time in France and he was the best. If you want to know about La Rochelle delivered in a passionate way, this is your guide.

History with enthusiasm! - We had a fantastic tour with John. Since it was early May we had quite a small group but the weather was perfect and he was full of enthusiasm and information. We couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the history of the town. We highly recommend this tour!

Top! NOTHING TO SAY I love, too much my drug - Top! Nothing to say!! The welcome, the service the room, the decor! WOW! 🥰
(Breakfast in bed on 25 Dec amazing!)
The team on site was on top, never seen a welcome like that, professionalism 👍🏻
We had the chance to access the spa La Neuvième Lettre in the basement where we were welcomed like kings with a little 4H 🤴 I love I recommend, and will return without hesitation for a short stay in La Rochelle.
