PASSION & PURPOSE - LA PAZ Tour w/ Fernando - This tour with FERNANDO was excellent. We could feel Fernando's passion for his city in each word he spoke. He took the time to explain super interesting stories about La Paz and his English was superb. Highly recommend this tour and with Fernando!!!

Great, informative Walking Tour through La Paz - I can highly recommend this walking tour! My guide, Luiz, who speaks very well English showed me the city and provided a lot of useful information about La Paz, but also about Bolivia. He took his time to explain everything in detail. I got to know the teleferico system, that works here instead of a metro, which is fascinating! Great tour, thank you so much!

Best walking + teleferico tour in La Paz! - This walking tour was amazing.
Luis took all the time to explain La Paz + Bolivia’s history, myths and politics to us. He brought us to the witch market where he throughly explained the rituals and “witchcraft”, then showed us typical local streets, left us time for pictures (even taking them himself), and brought us to El Alto by teleferico, which was a nice highlight!
The tour lasted more than 3h (about 3h40) and we barely saw the time fly. Luis didn’t mind going over the time limit to show us more sights.
Luis is very knowledgeable of La Paz, speaks French, English and Spanish and truly knows how to offer a local outlook to the city which is greatly appreciated (no tourist traps here!)
Strongly recommend this tour !

Great orientation to La Paz - We had a wonderful walking tour. We visited all of the major sites rode the cable cars. We heard stories about the culture and religion. We received orientation on how to purchase tickets for the cable cars which allowed us to explore on our own after the tour.
It was definitely worth our time and money

Not very comfortable - I found the guide’s manner of speaking somewhat abrasive, which may be due to a language or cultural difference. He frequently used phrases like ‘Is it clear?’ or ‘Do you understand?’, which felt condescending. At one point, I asked for clarification on a point about corruption because I hadn’t heard him clearly, and he responded by saying, ‘You haven’t been listening,’ which was off-putting.
While the guide emphasized the importance of respecting and not judging local culture, he also expressed pride that Bolivia preserves its traditions, unlike neighboring countries that are embracing globalization. While I appreciate pride in one’s culture, I believe there’s a way to promote your country without diminishing others. Additionally, the economic situation in Bolivia is complex, and it’s a sensitive topic. As a tourist, I was looking for a tour that would give me a balanced view of the city, its culture, and its values. However, this experience left me with the impression that the guide’s attitude could be interpreted as reflective of the broader culture in La Paz or Bolivia, which may not be accurate.
Overall, this was not the most positive cultural encounter, but I’ll keep in mind that it was just one interaction and may not represent the whole community. The tour lasted 2 hr instead of 3 but I am glad it ends early. As sudden change in altitude taking cable car can be also challenging
