Awesome cool river experience and beautiful waterfall! - This was a great way to spend an afternoon. The walk up/down to the waterfall is not "easy" but it is safe and you can stop along the way. It's just a long way down. But, it's definitely worth the walk! We couldn't go into the pool at athe bottom of the falls because it had rained the day before but we had tons of fun swimming and climbing rocks in the river below the falls. It was wonderfully chilly and had a little bit of current making it a "not-lazy" river, lol. I think water shoes were super helpful for the rocks. Everyone leaves there stuff on the side of the river and it feels very safe. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend this!

Fortuna waterfall - It's a major climb down and back, but it's worth it and there are many places to stop and sit along the way so don't feel discouraged. The power of this waterfall is at it's best when enjoyed close-up.

Amazing - The hike to the Waterfall was worth it. It began to rain on the way up, and that made the experience much better. This is a must do in La fortuna.

Excellent day in La Fortuna. - Beautiful place! Very well kept, a steep walk up and down, however stairs are well maintained with plenty of places to stop and rest. You are able to swim near the waterfall but recommend staying near the shore as the power of the falls can pull you in. There are lifeguards on duty as well.

Pretty good waterfall - We were a little apprehensive of the 500 steps back up but didn’t find it that bad and the whole thing was worth the effort being able to have a dip in the cool water with the fish. Take water shoes and a towel.

Beautiful - Beautiful large waterfall! There is also a small area to the left for swimming with the least skittish fresh water fish I ever seen! If you want to swim in the waterfall pool I recommend you only do so if you are a strong swimmer and don’t mind the cold. Enjoy!

Must Do in La Fortuna - This is one of the main attractions around La Fortuna and it’s well worth it. The installations are just enough to let you enjoy it (safe stairs to reach the bottom of the waterfall, bathrooms and shower) and not enough to make you lose the sense of being surrounded by nature. The ambiant sounds, the lush green and the majestic waterfall were breathtaking. We also enjoyed dipping in the cold water at the waterfall (glad we had waters shoes!) and spend some time in the more quiet pool on the other side, where the waters are clear and the fish abundant. We saw some blue morphos flying around too.

There was no line - On the day we went, there wasn't any line, so the skipping the line wasn't actually any help. Fyi, the restaurant is inside the must-have-a-ticket zone. The 500 steps are no joke. My calves are still feeling it two days later. It's beautiful at the bottom and getting into the pool at the bottom of the fall was really nice.

Worth it! - Lots of stairs but definitely worth it to see the waterfall and swim in the river! There’s places to take as many breaks as you need so I think anyone can do it
