Wonderful Nature Tour- you will not be disappointed! - Had a great day on the river either Victor, Fernando and Jose. They were able to show us some amazing wildlife— monkeys, sloths, iguanas, cayman and much more! It was a very peaceful day and learned a lot. The tour was great— I highly recommend this tour— make sure to ask for Victor!

Monkeys and fabulous birds - awesome time! - We had four generations of family there, 10 people ranging in age from 6 to 76. Our guides, Pablo and Bernardo, work great. Sense of humor, pointing out animals, plants, birds. After the rafting trip, we were brought back to a house where a nice snack was served. Queso fresco, banana bread, fresh local juices. At the house, there were horses, chickens, and a birdfeeder was set up with bananas. There are no words to describe how awesome the birdfeeder was. Every time I went by it, there was gorgeous birds. It is a birder’s dream!!!

Safari float that delighted the whole family - Our two children (5 and 8), became instant rafting fans thanks to a wonderful guided float down the Corobici River. The 7-mile stretch of river was a nice mix of class 1 rapids that were manageable for kids with calm waters where our guide pointed out monkeys, birds, and iguanas along the banks. The included transportation, lunch, snacks, and beverages were all excellent and made for a smooth trip, with the driver very professional and accommodating for breaks. A great way for the family to experience the outdoors in Costa Rica!

Unforgettable experience - Absolutely wonderful experience. Very professionally managed including light lunch at the end at the home of a native Costa Rican who prepared local dishes. Our guide, Carlos, was terrific. Very knowledgeable and friendly. So much different wildlife! Most incredible--we saw the elusive Agami Heron. Our guide said this was only the second one he has ever seen. Absolutely stunning!

Great day on seeing the area by water! - A great time on the water and lunch afterwards in a farm kitchen— Nelson was so informative about the area, history and wildlife-a really fun way to see the country from the water rather than on land! Thank you!

Super fun experience! - This was a super fun tour! Carlos, our guide, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about the different flora and fauna, and we felt like we learned a lot. It gets hot on the boat so be sure to bring sunscreen and a hat. There are periods of shade. We saw a lot of cool animals, especially birds, monkeys, iguanas, lizards, etc. Also we stopped on the way to the river as our guide and driver spotted a sloth! Our driver was great, too. He handled the sometimes bumpy roads very well. Also we went to a farm to have a delicious and filling snack after, along with some excellent coffee and dessert! It was a great experience. Bring cash for tips!

Authentic and Magical Costa Rican Experience - Easily the most memorable experience we had in Costa Rica. It gave us the chance to see the most animals and more importantly, meet authentic people and have authentic food. Bernardo recommended this trip while we were with him on another tour, and he made it sound so intriguing that all eight of us jumped at the chance. (If anything, Bernardo undersold the experience, it was that good!) We started out in the afternoon (around 1:30pm) to go to Rio Frio since Bernardo explained that by the time we got to the river, it would be cooling down and the animals would be more likely to move about. So at 1:30 we boarded our bus, complete with two inflatable rafts strapped to the top, and met our driver (Christian), and Jorge, our second guide. We first stopped at a good viewing point of the Arenal Volcano; it was an exceptionally clear day and it offered a stunning view! After this we proceeded to a small area off the main road where a sloth was known to be. (Note this was its natural habitat--not a preserve or anything). Bernardo set up his monocular so that we could see it close up (it was perhaps 30 yards away from us). He also took a couple of photos and videos using our cell phones--his ability to take clear pictures and videos with this amazed me. The sloth actually moved around a bit, and we were able to get some good videos! Following that we proceeded to a small bakery and grocery store to get drinks and food. We then reboarded the bus and went to the starting point for the float. Within minutes of parking, rafts were in the water and we were all aboard! It's at this poin that the magic truly began. I was in the boat with Jorge, who had an encyclopedic knowledge of the river and the birds and other animals. Due to the nature of being on the quiet raft, we were able to get surprisingly close to many birds! During the the float we saw a number of troops of howler monkeys (one of the most enjoyable and funny things was Bernardo and a monkey calling to each other), a troop of spider monkeys, and sleeping bats. After about a 7km float, we pulled ashore and were met by Christian. We then went to Dona Wendy's--a small restaurant in the forest where Dona Wendy cooked on a wood stove. Her cuisine was simple, authentic, and delicious: pork, beef, and chicken with rice, yuca and other native ingredients. Her hospitality was endearing! We returned to our resort, tired but full around 8pm. Bernardo, Jorge, Christian, and Dona Wendy are wonderful people and Jacamar Touring are very fortunate to have them. Bernardo had explained that we would finish the float at a small restaurant in the forest where we would have a chance to have some authentic food.

Wonderful experience. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to see wildlife in an ecologically conscious way. - Fantastic! Our driver Jose-Luis was friendly, careful, safe, and professional, always with a smile. Our guide Carlos was extraordinary, highly knowledgeable, helpful, engaging, and fun to be with. He was great with both adults and kids. He helped us see a huge variety of birds, caimons, howling monkeys, lizards, even a crocodile! We didn't see other tourists, no motor boats disturbing the river, only the peace and beauty of the place. We also learned something about the Maleku culture. Afterwards, we visited Wendy's house had amazing food and the best coffee in a beautiful setting. It was a special experience and a perfect day. Thank you!

Amazing float down the Rio Frio - This was an amazing experience. It was just the 2 of us and the guide, we floated down the river for 2 hours while our guide pointed out animals and birds all around us. He truly loved his job and it showed. Definitely one of the best tours we did in Costa Rica, it wasn't cheap, but well worth it! Both our guide and driver were great guys!
