Cooking and more - This was a great experience for my daughter and I. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and when she did not know the answer she said she would find out. The walk through the garden was very interactive. We used all five of our senses during the walk. It was fun making home made tortillas.

Great Farm and Dinner Experience - The tour and dinner were a very positive experience. We first sampled a number of organically grown herbs on the farm (the tour guides were very knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging), and then we helped prepare a tasty dinner of salad, rice, chicken, and tortillas. My daughters and I enjoyed the evening and would definitely do it again.

AMAZING Costa Rican farm and cooking experience - We wanted a farm experience and WOW did we find one amazing experience in Costa Rica. This is a hidden gem that everyone should add to their list of things to do. We got to meet Huber and get a private tour of his farm and property. His story was inspiring and it was very cool seeing how much his beautiful farm produces and puts on the table. It has inspired us to look more into the food we consume and where we get it from. We got to wrap up the evening tour cooking up a traditional Costa Rican meal with Huber and his lovely wife. They are such a warm and welcoming family. This was by far our favorite and most genuine feeling Costa Rican experience. We can't wait to come back and do it again!

Meeting with Don Huber - Pleasant family time for the visit of the organic farm of Don Huber. Accompanied by two French engineering trainees to ensure translation, we started with an excellent meal, probably the best casado we have eaten of the stay + chocolate squares from the farm for dessert. This was followed by a nice visit to the different plantations of the farm, in the form of a game to recognize the different plants. Perfect for capturing the attention of our teenage girls. Then tasting a cane juice flavored with the plants we picked up, with rum option for adults! And finally, time for an almost philosophical discussion with Don Huber who told us the story of his life, and why he switched to biological. An exciting exchange, which contrasts with the many tourist attractions of La Fortuna.

Delicious, authentic experience - We are so glad we booked this tour/dinner. The tour of the farm was very interesting and we learned alot. We got to sample many of the garden plants and had fresh sugarcane juice with other produce juices mixed in (tumeric, ginger, lemongrass, mint, etc.) after that we cooked dinner together and everything we made and ate was amazing. Highly recommend!

Can't recommend highly enough!! - My father, brother and I all love gardening and cooking, so we were really excited for this experience--and it surpassed our expectations! Huber led us around his incredible finca where he grows EVERYTHING! We harvested and tasted everything from fresh peppercorns, to stevia leaves, to cinnamon bark shaved right off the tree, to dozens of other plants and herbs we'd never heard of! (Including THE best pineapple we've ever tasted, harvested right there!) We collected a bunch of ingredients (fresh turmeric, cinnamon, hierbabuena, lemongrass...I forget the other 6 or so!) which we then got to make into a incredible, healthy juice by pressing it all with sugarcane, as baby bats flew around us! Huber also sought out brightly-colored frogs, and a big ol'd toad as we made our way in after dark. (He can tell wqhen it's 6pm exactly by the change in the cicadas!) Dinner was simple but delicious, hosted so generously by Huber and his wife in their home, and we loved making hand-made tortillas (at home we're lazy and use a press!), and getting to know what goes into the delicious gallo pinto we'd been having (the secret seems to be culantro--not cilantro--and achiote paste!). They were so open and warm and shared their deep knowledge and passion for organic farming, and the natural world in a way we'll never forget!

A great time. To recommend - We were received by Don Huber who entrusted us to the care of Marion and Wagner, two French-speaking volunteers. They introduced us to a number of plants with varied virtues which they explained to us. Then with these plants and cane sugar (which we crushed) they prepared a super invigorating and invigorating drink for us. A delight. We were then treated to a local cooking class with Hugo, the finca's cook. We even prepared the tortillas. The lunch was delicious, enhanced with anecdotes from our hosts. A great time that we cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you to the entire Finca Paraiso Organico team who do an excellent job for visitors, but also for the planet. Celine and Thierry

Great Host Huberth & Great Organic Farm - You have to come here because Huberth, the host, is a great person, is very kind and knowledgeable, speaks English for those who can’t speak Spanish, and is talented as many things. His family consisting of his mother and brothers & sisters and father are all lovely people as well. We stayed in his cabin that had a view of the forest and many types of birds and trees. The cabin was built with his own hands, and with the help of his uncle. The cabin had a great view, and it was very unique and comfortable. We took a chocolate class with him as well as a cooking class, and they were both amazing because he spent such great time educating us about how chocolate is made from beginning to end as well as being able to pick everything from his farm to cook that same night. Both of the food was organic and vegetarian and picked from his own farm. Cooking class also included his mother who did the orchestrating of the cooking and was a great cook. it was really nice to have such a down to earth experience with him and his family. The farm is amazing with so much natural life and he was able to show us nocturnal animals such as toads were such beautiful in color. This experience was amazing because you can’t get these kind of experiences anywhere else especially because they have a farm and they grow so many vegetables and herbs and they have fruit trees as well as Cacao trees. You could literally eat off their land here. Just remember to bring rain shoes for wet grounds w mud and rain jackets and changes of clothes since the rain and dampness is part of this ecosystem. Try to bring as many clothing items that are waterproof as possible and definitely bug spray for mosquitoes. It’s best to rent a car bc the roads are very narrow and there are no sidewalks and there are no shoulders on the roads. So you can’t really walk safely around here. People do it and they also bike but I would be too scared. If you’re going to rent a car and park it at this farm, make sure you check for mud areas so your car does not get stuck. Oh and their 2 dogs are lovely too. The brown one Pelota is so cute because he follows Huberth around everywhere, and is part of every tour and knows every inch of the farm as well.
