Unexpected fun and fascinating night walk just outside of la fortuna - One of the most unexpected and lovely surprises in la fortuna. Nestled in the outskirts of the city.About 1.5 km from town center is the ecological park. We took a night walk with Jose, a biologist with a passion for the local ecosystem. He showed us sleeping glass frogs, a lurking cayman, sloth and more. He made it fun for the 4 year old and the adults from a 70 year old to teens all enjoyed his humor.

Totally Amazing and Worth It! - The place is small and beautiful. Our guide Sadalia was awesome. They picked us up at the hotel and we spent about 3 hours there. It was a clam, slow walk through this animal preserve. It was a nice combination of description of plant life and animals. We saw lots of birds, a bluejean frog, lizards, owl butterflies, caiman, and 4 sloths. She had her telescope and field guide to help us see and understand what we were looking at. There is no way we would have see the animals she pointed out- she had eagle eyes! She was extremely knowledgeable about the plants and animals. It was one of our vacation highlights. It is a preserve- so go there and support the people who are trying to protect the animals.

nature walk - This was an easy but thoroughly enjoyable walk. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and the grounds were beautiful and plentiful. We spent only a morning there but would go back for more if we had the time.

Few Animals - The education aspect of it. Even if animals weren't available, the knowledge of medicinal plants and agriculture was interesting. The service was great too.
