- F955+53 - Cooking and Salsa Dance Lesson Combo\nLearn to cook and dance like a local on this unique night out in La Fortuna! The perfect way to get to know Costa Rican culture and take part in some of our most important activities in Costa Rica: cooking, eating, and dancing!\nPeople are starting to really take to learning about new cultures and the best way to do that is to learn about what the locals eat.\nTurns out, Costa Rica has amazing cuisine – it’s healthy, natural, and actually very easy to learn how to cook it. That’s why you’ll be wanting to take back local spices and try some of our favorite recipes back home with your friends and families.\nWe’ve planned these cooking classes as a great way to get to know other travelers and hang out with a knowledgeable local “chef!”\nBut the night gets even better because as soon as you finish cooking, you’ll be able to sit down to the delicious meal you helped cook up and chat about the “Pura Vida” of Costa Rica.\nBut wait… there’s more! Hope you brought your dancing shoes to Costa Rica because we then head to the dance floor to learn how to dance to some of our favorite Latin beats – salsa, merengue, cumbia y bachata!

Great evening with teacher Kathy! - We experienced a great combination evening with our cooking/dancing instructor Kathy. The cooking class was lots of fun and we enjoyed a full, tasty dinner afterwards eating what we had prepared. After the dinner, we learned a few salsa steps from this very patient woman, and really had fun with that part of the experience, too. Highly recommend the excursion with Kathy!

Good way to introduce yourself to Costa Rican cuisine as well as have fun socializing with strangers. - Katherine was fantastic at describing the culture and relating it to the food prep. You are left enjoying an authentic Costa Rican meal. In addition to the food class she also instructed the salsa lesson. Having 2 left feet and having taken salsa classes before, I found her ability to teach basic movements in a simple yet delightful manner. Of course everything is only as good as your company. Our tour was filled with just the right amount of people willing to participate and who were there to socialize and mingle.

Full hands on experience - My boyfriend and I were the only 2 people in this class so our experience might be a little different than someone who went to a full class. Jennifer was SO GREAT! She said she didn't speak much English but we communicated just fine. She taught us some Spanish words and we taught her some English words. Everything was hands on from the very beginning. We cut up and cooked everything starting with muddling our own drinks. Jennifer was a terrific instructor and our food turned out so delish! We were pretty tired by the end of the night so we cut our salsa dancing a little short, but not before she taught us a nice little dance that we can show our friends at home. We will keep practicing, but we are better cooks than dancers! Thanks again Jennifer for the wonderful experience!

Costa Rican Dinner and Dancing - Food was fresh, and mainly cooked by us, the people who signed up for the class. It was cool to meet other people and learn how to cook a Costa Rican meal, and then later learn how to do a little bit of Salsa dancing.

Awesome culture learning experience. - My husband and I did this on Valentines day! It was a unique way to be engaged in the local culture. The othe participants were incredibly friendly and made the evening super fun. Our instructor, Jenny, had limited English but a fantastic attitude which made is easy to follow along!
The salsa dancing was very challenging for my husband and I but that's because we were born with two left feet. We had a ton of fun trying! Jenny was great at trying to help us!
My only issue was I wish they gave us a paper recipe that we could follow and take home with us. As they only had a limited number of stations so not everyone could cook each part of the meal.
HOWEVER, we we were at our air bnb in tamarindo, I tried cooking casados and it turned out so good! We will definitely be using what we learned at home!
