First, you’ll descend into a breathtaking world of cascading waterfalls, hidden trails, and rocky cliffs. Rappel down vertical drops, leap into refreshing pools, and navigate through narrow gorges, surrounded by the lush tropical rainforest.
- Arenal Rafting - After an invigorating canyoning session, it’s time to take on the untamed rivers of Costa Rica in a thrilling white water rafting adventure. Board a sturdy raft with your team and paddle through rapids that will test your skills and teamwork. Feel the rush of Rio Balsa, with a class III section of 45 minutes rapid by rapid, and a lower section of one hour to relax on easier rapids, swim tropical waters, stop for eating fruit on the river side and watch wildlife like sloths, toucans and iguanas. Experience the thrill of conquering each rapid, working together to navigate the twists and turns of the powerful currents. At the end you will be rewarded with a delicious Costa Rican lunch.

You can directly to our base of operations in La Fortuna (Arenal Rafting Company), Avenue 333, Street 460, where we have a secure park and other facilities. From this place we continue on our bus.

A MUST! - I had an amazing time waterfall repelling! The entire experience was thrilling and unforgettable. The guides, Roman and Arturo, were fantastic—super knowledgeable, professional, and fun to be around. They made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe while navigating the beautiful waterfalls. The lunch provided was also a highlight—delicious traditional Costa Rican food that really hit the spot after an adventurous day. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a unique and exciting way to explore nature in Costa Rica!

A true jungle adventure for a family of 5 (9, 9, 11 year olds) - We are adventurers, my kids are 9, 9 and 11 - the waterfall part of this tour is a true adventure and the hike takes work, that's my only warning to others, get ready to work for it - it's worth every second. We had a small group of about 12 people in our group - we arrived at the house where you get set up for the waterfall repelling and there were kittens, baby chicks and a family setting up for our breakfast (eat something small before you go b/c they don't feed you until after!) You get to the first small waterfall quickly and then you work your way down to bigger falls. Their tour guides were phenomenal, they made us feel safe and secure, we do climb and hike often but this was totally different and my kids LOVED it.
After the last waterfall you hike back up with the group - some were struggling to get back for sure. We then ate and then headed to meet a bigger group to do the White Water Rafting. We had Osa as our guide for the first part and Axle for the rafting - we LOVED both of them. They were funny, helped with our Spanglish and educated us the whole time, the kids especially loved learning about the nature around us, we saw sloths and monkeys and the bus driver pulled over often to show us some amazing birds and creatures. The Rafting looked intimidating but there were groups of ALL ages there and we felt very safe, the guides work together to make sure everyone is safe. While this was an absolute jungle and adventure experience, it was well organized and made us feel super safe the whole time.

Amazing trip, would highly recommend - We went canyoning with ABC Canyoning, and we had an amazing experience. Our guides Ramon and Lobo, were very good at showing us the ropes and all around great. All the equipment was exactly as it should be, and we didn’t feel unsafe for even a second. It was a great time, and we would highly recommend it for anyone who’s willing to get a little down and dirty, and who likes adventure

An excellent adventure for the whole family - We loved ABC canyoning with Marcos (Double Risk “Fast and Furious 8), El Oso and Ramón. The waterfalls are amazing and a unique adventure. We have so much fun, they are amazing people.

Super fun trip! - We had an awesome time on this tour! It was actually the most fun day of our trip! We had extensive previous rock climbing experience, but that was definitely not necessary for the canyoneering. The guides made it very beginner friendly and there were several safety measures in place to make it more safe. The waterfalls were beautiful and the guides were fun (and fun-loving! Don’t be surprised if they splash you on the way down or dunk you in a pool at the bottom of the waterfall). We also enjoyed a delicious breakfast between the canyoneering and rafting. The rafting was amazing! There were many back-to-back rapids and the guides were encouraging and great at spotting wildlife. It was not too strenuous, but still a challenge. We enjoyed fresh fruit with the group partway down the river and then a traditional Casado meal once we returned to the base camp of the excursion. We would definitely recommend both activities to other travelers in search of a little adventure!

Great way to spend a day with the family! - The combo canyoning with rafting was a perfect full day adventure with my 3 kids. ABC canyoning/ rappelling with Alex and his crew was awesome! They were fantastic guides, and we all had a great time. 3 things I wished we had brought but didn’t on this trip: 1. A waterproof camera sleeve for the iPhone to wear around the neck. You can not have a camera in your pockets with the gear on, and it all gets wet. We definitely wanted pictures. They had waterproof heavy duty hip bags to use for free, but it wasn’t as convenient to have to take the camera in and out. Alex and Jordy also took some video and pictures for everyone throughout the adventure, but these iPhone clear sleeves are probably cheap and people probably already them. 2. Knee pads if you have them. I bumped my knee against the rocks since it was wet and slippery. These are cheap and could save an injury. 3. Bring some cash for tips. They are not able to do Apple Pay or Venmo. We tried to send by PayPal afterwards, but that also could not go through.
The Rafting portion was done by Arenal Rafting. This probably was the funnest thing we did the whole vacation. This portion was a much larger group and bigger operation- very well organized for its size. We had Juan as our guide, and he kept us safe and smiling the whole way down river. The rapids were just scary enough but not too dangerous for families. We shared the photo purchase with our raft-mates, so they were great high quality photos for a really reasonable price.
Overall, a great choice to spend the day with this combination of canyoning and rafting.

Book it! - What an amazing experience! The waterfall was beautiful and the guides were kind and knowledgable! Alex and Gorgie of ABC were too notch and the breakfast was delicious. Arenal Rafting was great and Oso our raft guide was patient and understanding. My daughter and I were very nervous while my husband and son were all in!!

Unforgettable family adventure - Our family recently embarked on a combo tour that included canyoning and rafting, and it was an absolute blast! The canyoning portion was the perfect blend of challenge and beauty. It wasn't too scary, making it ideal for families. The views were breathtaking, and it was a great way to bond with nature and each other.The rafting was the highlight for us, with class 2 and 3 rapids that were super safe yet filled with fun and excitement. The whitewater experience was thrilling, and our guides were the cherry on top. They were kind, gentle, and added a fun vibe to the entire adventure.We highly recommend this tour for families, kids, and teenagers. It's a fantastic way to create memorable experiences and enjoy the great outdoors.
