Highlights
  • Gekkeikan Okura Sake Museum - Surprisingly, this building maintains the original wooden structure of the brewery, built approximately 200 years ago. In the courtyard, you will find a well from which you can drink Fushimizu, the water used to brew sake. Like Fushimi sake, this water is incredibly smooth and delicious. We encourage you to try it and be surprised by its softness!

In the exhibition hall, you can see the traditional tools used in making sake, which have been designated as tangible popular cultural assets by the city of Kyoto. Additionally, we offer a special experience at the Gekkeikan Sake Brewery, which includes a glass of sake and tasting three samples of Japanese sake.
