- Kinkakuji Temple - This famous Zen temple is an icon of Samurai culture. You enter this venerated temple right after it opens in the morning, when few people visit. At this hour it is possible to get a good look at the gilded building and its beautiful appearance reflected in the pond and to take pictures at your own pace.
- Arashiyama - In the fresh early morning air, we walk through the renowned bamboo forest before the site gets busy. The beauty of the bamboo grove in the morning sun is exceptional. Fantastic quick tour to beat the crowds - This tour was worth the early rising! Ken was delightful and efficient, easily leading us from one destination to another on transit. My husband and I prefer to see “touristy” spots, but spend the majority of our time exploring neighborhoods and back streets. This tour was perfect as we spent limited time at each destination to beat the crowds and had the rest of our day free to explore on our own. Highly recommend this tour!

It’s definitely worth... - It’s definitely worth getting up early to do this tour as there are very few other tourists at this time…
Having such a wonderful and knowledgeable guide like Ken Sugii who taught us the importance of these places not just about there beauty and could have a good laugh as well… thank you Ken

Caring Guide - We very much enjoyed our tour with Guide, Megumi. Megumi was very knowledgeable about the highlights of Kyoto sharing information as we went. Megumi also had a brief timeline history of Japan which helped us understand the significance of various temples and shrines. We took a photo for our records. Megumi was a very caring and thoughtful guide. It was a very cold and wet day in Kyoto and she had on hand plastic bags for our umbrellas whilst on public transport and gave us instant heat pocket warmers. We used the train, subway and bus to get to our destinations, which was a breeze as we had JR passes and IC card and also we did not need to stop and buy tickets for the guide, which other tours often require. We would definitely recommend Megumi as wonderful guide to get to know many highlights of Kyoto.

Great way to see the sights and beat the crowds - Akiko was a joy to spend a morning with. Friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and funny. It was a great way to see some of the major Kyoto sights and learn about the history from a local. Highly recommend.

Excellent tour! - Kaz was an excellent guide. He was informative and very friendly. We enjoyed the entire morning and saw important and beautiful sites in Kyoto. It was an A+ experience.

Early morning tour - Ungodly hour but worth it. - Our guide was amazing, he was warm and friendly, spoke excellent english and provided us with important contextual knowledge of the places we visited. Yes the tour does start at an ungodly hour (and Kyoto Station is honestly quite terrifying at 6am) but it becomes worth it when you go to the Tori Gates and its practically empty. Worth every penny and time. I would highly highly recommend.

Kyoto big three highlights (early edition) - Beat the crowds! This tour, while early, was one of the highlights of our time spent in Kyoto. Sumiko, our guide, was amazing, caring, knowledgeable, and great with our teenage kids! Sumiko knew just how to navigate the public transit system so we could visit all of the sites the tour offers. We enjoyed getting to know Sumiko, and we would recommend her for this tour.

Highly Recommend if You Don’t Mind Walking and Waking Up Early - I think my group didn’t realize how early they needed to get up for this because they’re not early risers… that being said, it’s literally in the name lol. I loved this tour and our tour guide, she was a very kind and lovely person! I also appreciated greatly that we went to the Inari Shrine early. I was able to get some great photos! It gets crowded fast, so I definitely recommend going in the morning. I liked that our guide was flexible with the schedule as well and messaged us beforehand to confirm the schedule. She was very informative and patient with us if we wanted to buy souvenirs which was nice too!
