Yukata - They also thought about how to choose a yukata together, so I enjoyed wearing it. It had been a long time since I wore a yukata, so I had a lot to worry about, but I was glad I chose a shop.

Fun experience - Kimono is a very unique outfit & where else would we get to wear one, other than Japan. I booked the Kimono rental for the whole family, through their website. They have individual, couple, family & many other combos on their website. The booking is simple & straightforward. I had booked a 2:00 PM slot, however reached the place at 1:00 PM. The staff agreed to dress us up early as there weren't other customers. They had huge collection of Kimonos for men, women & children. Similar to regular outfits, Kimonos have small, medium, large sizes too & the staff tell us the appropriate size. The tricky part was that same color/pattern Kimono wasn't available in all sizes. So, even though we liked certain colors/patterns, it wasn't our size, so our plan to have color-coordinated outfits for the whole family, did not work in the end. They maintain a lot of cleanliness & hygiene, strict no food/drink policy. The staff were walking around in socks. We had to remove our shoes at the entrance. The whole experience with the dressing up & hair was very good. Definitely recommend this experience.

Good, but the nicer parts always cost extra - ES was a unique experience with the family in Tokyo walking in kimonos. However ES was very hot in the kimonos at about 35 degrees. The staff are very professional, very fast, very nice and know what they are doing. You can get somewhere with english. The standard kimonos were free, but the prettier ones cost from about plus two thousand yen more. Also the belts, the hair accessories, the bags , hairstyles, everything you felt better and more beautiful was equally more expensive. In the end we paid €46.98 per person (instead of €28.89).

A disappointment - I went in search of a lovely used yukata for my daughter at the Wargo store just off Teramachi in Kyoto. What I found were disinterested staff and disinteresting products on the hangers and shelves. The only things worth the yen on offer where those on display - each of which had a large 'not for sale' notice attached. No comment.

Poor - I booked through Airbnb an overnight stay at a B&B in North Berwick for the 13th September and found out afterwards that the property was on a steepish hill. At no point did the hostess mention this even though she knew I was coming up 70. I cancelled the booking and did not qualify for a refund so be aware to ask this when booking. I then contacted Airbnb customer services and that was an absolute nightmare. This was done through a chat bot and it didn’t have the human touch as she sounded very scripted. I then asked if I could log a complaint and she advised I would be contacted by email. 5 mins later my phone rang at that would not have been enough time to log a complaint and investigate. Both ladies were nice however English wasn’t their first language and I struggled at times to understand. The lady was just repeating herself and again it felt very scripted. I gave up eventually and have emailed Airbnb directly in the UK. SORRY FOR THE RANT
