Ring your bell - This was much more authentic than expected. Kengo was great. Good teacher and you really get to learn and practice kendo techniques. Hitting your annoying travel friend with a stick is a cathartic trip experience.

A Must Take Class! Super fun! - Let’s start with number one the instructors were very funny and personable. They speak very good English if that’s a barrier. They also understanding instructors as I was late because of missed trains and didn’t feel like I missed 30 minutes at all. Will come again!

Must have experience! - Amazing experience - one of our best in Japan Hayato sensei is a professional who is skilled, great, kind and encouraging. The location is in the outskirts of kyoto in a peaceful neighbourhood. We had no problem reaching there. We learnt kendo and Japanese etiquettes like Seiza, bowing. We also learnt how to gear up with Kendo gear, basic kendo techniques. Finally we got to use replica swords, kendo sticks and a real sword.

Friendly and welcoming experience - The instructors where very informative and welcoming. A lot of history in Kendo and informatively fun to learn about the martial art. Perfect for beginners and people who want to experience some form of traditional martial arts in Japan without judgement or previous experience.
