Excellent insight into Geisha culture and history - Mona was wonderful, she was very knowledgeable about the area and about history of Geisha, and pointed out things on the walking tour part of the trip that we would have missed! Mona was an excellent translator between us and the Maiko during the Q&A after the show too - her English is great. The Maiko show was such a special insight into Japanese culture and the game at the end was light hearted and fun. Would fully recommend this activity to others.

An event that cannot be missed while in Kyoto - The show was absolutely worth it. But what made it even better is the explanation and the history that our guide Yoshino Taira provided. She was not only willing but very excited about the history and the story behind the dance of Geisha. She also went above and beyond by taking pictures of me and other guests and providing recommendations on other sightseeing spots in Kyoto. I am very hesitent about organized tours and events but this one was a pleasant surprise. I highly highly recommend it and a must event while in Kyoto.

Maiko experience - What an amazing experience, our guide and interpreter was. Yoshino walked us around Gion and gave us an overall experience of the area and on Maiko and Geikos. The Maiiko was a delight we asked many questions which she happily answered through our guide she gave us an insight into her world . A truly fabulous experience. Watching her dance and play a game with us gave us a glimpse into her world. Do this if you can.

The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, and helped me learn a lot about geiko culture. I would like to join this tour again.

A Cultural Experience to Treasure for Years to Come - This was a true highlight of our time in Japan. After trying to spot geisha and maiko for a few days in Kyoto and being unlucky, we were very grateful to be part of this rich cultural experience with a maiko. Our guide Ai was very knowledgeable and willing to answer all of our questions, as well as translate so we could speak with tbe maiko. Our group ended up only having my husband and I, so we were able to see two beautiful dances and play a fan game. We would absolutely recommend this experience!

Great tour if you don’t mind too much walking. - The tour was good and we really enjoyed learning more about the history of Geisha and the training that is involved. The fam was also fun and entertaining. I would recommend that the tour change the title to include “walking”. I chose this tour because it did not talk about walking. My mom isn’t able to walk a lot, especially on uneven surfaces. I asked our guide if she could please slow down because we were losing her and she still walked at a fast pace. Our guide definitely had a love for Japanese history but her English was not very good and it was difficult to understand her. She was very sweet however. The geisha was amazing and beautiful.
