Hidden path to the Fushimi Inari Shrine - Thank you Hina for guiding me through the Fushimi Inari Shrine. We took paths through bamboo forests to shrines that I would never have found myself. Hina was a great host and helped me to understand the history and culture behind the shrines. She's also pointed out great snacks along the way!

An immersive and more intentional experience on visiting Fushimi Inari Shrine. - First, I would like to say how kind and informative our tour guide was. Kana, greeted us with a smile whilst she waited for us in front of family mart. She made us feel welcome and her warm smile made us look forward for the hike. She also didn’t hesitate to answer our questions in pertaining to japanese culture and everyday life. Once our group was complete, we walked past the neighbourhood as she explained some interesting facts about the role of the community in the maintenance of cleanliness of the area. We also passed by a famous ice cream shop to try the Miso Ice cream ( It’s too cold for me so I skipped it). Then we began our hike through the unpaved path up the Mt. Fushimi. This is my favourite part as I love nature and I feel like I’m being bathed by the sights and sounds of the forest. It was magical! Not to mention Kana’s attention to details and some explanations regarding shrine worship and the deities. (Make sure that your footwear has a good grip because it’s a proper forest trail with pointy rocks and loose gravel.) When we made our way to the Fushimi Inari, she guided us where to the important shrines and helped me get my Goshuin along the way. In summary, I can’t reiterate how important and amazing this tour for us. It’s definitely one of the highlights of our Kyoto trip! We learned a lot from Kana. She’s truly a gem. I will not hesitate to book this again when I return with my family!

Fushimi Inari Taisha Hike - Yuna was an incredible tour guide who led us on a hike up the back mountain trails to the Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrines. We were out of the crowds the whole way up seeing some beautiful forest scenery including a bamboo forest area before circling through the many beautiful gates at the top of the mountain and showing us the shrines. She gave us great information on the history and evolution of Shinto and Buddhism in Japan, connecting it to the sites we were visiting. Very informative. Plus she’s very nice and fun! Highly recommend

Wonderful - A great way to see the shrine. We would have struggled to understand all of the different shrines without the guide - as there is very little information for tourists. Plus it was great to hike off the beaten track and see the bamboo forest.

Fushimi Inari Walking Tour - Our tour with Matt was fantastic. He took us to a Zen Buddhist temple first before guiding us through a back way into Fushimi Inari! We were able to go up to the top of the mountain, see the bamboo groves, and take lots of pictures without crowds! This was a great experience and would highly recommend this tour!

Brilliant tour, knowledgable guide and a deserted bamboo grove! - I really enjoyed the hidden hiking tour. It was a great chance to see the Inari shrines, a deserted bamboo grove and generally get a look at sites with a few less tourists than usual. Matt was a brilliant guide, full of knowledge and prompts on the sites and related information. I would strongly recommend this tour features on your visit to Kyoto, as you’ll get to hit a few important sites on a scenic hike with a knowledgable person.
