Great Tours of the Scottish Highlands with Lawrence - My wife and I did two full-day private tours. The first day was to Skye, and the second day was to Glencoe and Glenfinnan. We could not have been more pleased with Lawrence, our tour guide. He was friendly and knowledgable about Scottish history and geography. He explained everything we were seeing in great detail and even told us the history and lore that went along with them. We loved the flexibility in this tour. Lawrence showed us so many sites and made so many stops that weren’t in the itinerary, because he wanted to make sure we didn’t miss anything. In short, Lawrence made our trip to Inverness one of the best trips we have ever taken. Thank you, Lawrence!!

Bonnie Sky - If looking for a general feel of Skye in one day, this is an excellent and comfortable tour. Jim was a great guide, funny and knowledgable. A lot of driving to get to places but the fantastic scenery makes up for it. Quiraing and Portree were majestic and picturesque respectively, absolute highlights for us. Talisker distillery too!

Amazing private tour to Isle of Skye - Did a private day tour to Isle of Skye with my family and we all loved it! Lawrence was very accommodating, allowed us to set agenda, picked us up from hotel in Ft Augustus. He gave lots of interesting history and tidbits of info as we drove by various areas. He is a great drivers, very nice to take a break from driving on the daunting Highland roads. Added bonus offered us lots of water and treats. Highly recommend!

Memorable experience with Uncle Kevin! - This was an incredible tour!! We had the best time and not only was it because of the endless views of the highlands and Skye but Kevin, our driver and guide. Kevin, also known as Uncle Kevin, was extremely passionate about the tour and it's history. He was an absolute delight that kept us laughing, he took pictures and truly wanted us to have the best experience. This was the highlight of our 15 day vacation across England, Scotland and Ireland. We can't thank Uncle Kevin enough!!!

Tremendous Scottish Highlands tour experience - We spent three nights in Inverness in June 2024 and were very fortunate to spend our two full days on tours with Billy Fraser of Highland Private Tours. On the first day, we took the Speyside Tour, including Ballindalloch Castle, Speyside Cooperage, and Glenfarclas distillery. Billy was a charming and affable tour guide, attentive to our needs and interests. He was on time, polite, knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend two days with. On the second day, we went to Isle of Skye. Although the weather was a wee bit stormy, Billy was a ray of sunshine, taking us to amazing local spots like the Oyster Shed near the Talisker Distillery. Billy was eager to share his knowledge of local culture and a great ambassador for the Scottish Highlands. Great guy and guide.

Best tour ever! Highlight of our trip ! - We recently embarked on a three-day Scottish Highland tour with Kevin, which turned out to be the highlight of our two-week journey through Scotland and Ireland . Kevin not only guided us through breathtaking landscapes and hidden gems but also cared for us as if we were his own family. Traveling with young children can be challenging, but Kevin effortlessly kept them engaged and entertained, ensuring their delight throughout the journey. This tour was, without a doubt, one of the best experience of our lives, creating memories that we will cherish forever. The stunning beauty of Scotland was magnified tenfold thanks to Kevin’s exceptional guidance and care.

Beautiful sites! - Lawrence Maclean was our guide. We were a little apprehensive about the long day. But Lawrence knew just when to give us a breather & stretch our legs. We had high hopes for the scenery, but thanks to Lawrence’s knowledge, it even surpassed our expectations! He found a great place for Fish & Chips for lunch! I would highly recommend Lawrence & Highland Private Tours!

Outsourcing isn't right - Amongst many available options, I opted for this highest rated tour with Viator without regard for the expenses. Unfortunately, Lawrence (who operates the tour company) when asked for tour itinerary asked me to go and check on the website and ultimately outsourced our trip to another tour operator. Ken Mackinnon was great and knowledgeable who went out of his way to make the trip informative and fun. We went from Inverness via North of Loch Ness to the Eilean Donan Castle and onwards to Sligachan, Portree, Uig bay and looped back via the Quiraing. Weather was great so we got to see the Old Man of Storr. On the way back, Ken brought us back from a different route so that we got to see more of the Highlands before approaching Inverness from the North. Summarizing, I hope I knew about Ken who goes by "Highland tours and transfers" and had booked directly with him rather then paying extra to Viator and another tour operator who outsources jobs to others anyways.
