Thean Hou Temple - Thean Hou Temple
Constructed between 1981 and 1987 at a cost of approximately RM7 million, this temple blends Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism. It showcases modern architectural techniques alongside traditional design, featuring grand pillars, stunning roofs, intricate carvings, and detailed embellishments. The temple hosts grand celebrations for Goddess Tian Hou, Goddess Kuan Yin, and the Goddess of the Waterfront.
Cultural events include the annual Mid-Autumn Festival and Chinese New Year celebrations. The temple also offers fortune-telling, marriage registration, and traditional Chinese exercise and martial arts classes such as qigong, tai chi, and wushu. - The River of Life - The River of Life is a highlight of Kuala Lumpur, located near Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad, the city’s oldest mosque. It is where the Klang River and Gombak River meet. The Klang River, known locally as Sungai Klang, flows through Kuala Lumpur and Selangor into the Straits of Malacca. The Gombak River is another major river in the Klang Valley. The urban river restoration project has been a success, with the River of Life being named one of the top 10 most beautiful waterfronts in the world.
- Lake Symphony - This spectacular fountain display features numerous water jets in the park’s artificial lake, with colorful lights dancing through the water. The combination of water and vibrant colors creates a dazzling scene. The Symphony Lake has two fountains with intelligent water displays, offering five programs with 380 individually sequenced water effects reaching up to 42 meters high. While waiting for the show around 8pm, visitors can shop at the nearby Suria KLCC, which houses over 320 high-end local and international retailers, including Coach, Kate Spade, and Jimmy Choo.
