Good short trip - Great morning with George at the Rhino and Lion park. He was very kind and knowledgeable. The caves were flooded so we didn’t get to go but that was quickly sorted and the difference refunded. Great trip if you’re pressed for time.

Where did we all come from? - This was a half day tour following the Lion and Rhino Reserve, The Cradle of Hunmankind where human life began. Unfortunately, the caves had been flooded so we couldn't go to them. The local guide at this site, Maropeng, was very, very knowledgeable. If you like anthropology this is for you. The guide told us about a Homo narledi pre Homo sapien that lived 300,000 years ago and purposely buried its dead implying a higher level of brain function than believed they were capable of. Wouldn't you know it, but a few days later there was a big article in the news about these same findings. We ate at the Carnivore restaurant which is a churrascaria style restaurant serving wild game. Go hungry, try things you'll never eat at home! We might have been packing a little too much in for one day since we needed to wait until 1 pm for the Lion feeding. That delayed things so our lunch to Carnivore was switched to dinner also because of driving logistics. We had to wait about an hour until dinner as the guide could only work so many hours and the tour company sent another driver to bring us home.
