Sunrise at Angkor Wat and Explore Angkor world heritage temples
Angkor Wat - Early morning at 4:30 AM, you will be picked up from your hotel lobby to witness the sunrise at Angkor Wat, the largest and best-preserved monument of the Angkor group, an architectural masterpiece. After enjoying the sunrise, continue exploring the Angkor Wat complex before returning to the hotel for breakfast.
Angkor Thom South Gate - The south gate of Angkor Thom is a favorite among visitors, as it has been fully restored with many of the heads still in place. The gate is on the main road leading into Angkor Thom from Angkor Wat.
Angkor Thom - Angkor Thom is a testament to the highest genius, representing Buddhist cosmology on a grand scale. It materializes ideas that only great painters would dare to portray.
Bayon Temple - Built nearly 100 years after Angkor Wat, the Bayon temple’s basic structure and earliest parts are not well known. Located at the center of a royal city, it likely started as a temple-mountain symbolizing Mount Meru. The temple was extended during its second phase of construction, with the current Bayon belonging to the third and final phase of its art style. The Bayon is renowned for its grand scale and composition, with over 200 large faces carved on its 54 towers, giving it a majestic character. The faces, with slightly curving lips and shadowed eyes, evoke a sense of mystery.
Baphuon Temple - Baphuon stands on a rectangular sandstone base with five levels of approximately the same size, surrounded by sandstone galleries. It is the first structure to feature stone galleries with a central tower. Two cross-shaped libraries with four porches stand in the courtyard, originally connected by an elevated walkway supported by columns.
Phimeanakas - Situated near the center of the Royal Palace area, Phimeanakas was once crowned with a golden pinnacle. Built of roughly hewn sandstone blocks, the temple has little decoration.
Terrace of the Elephants - The Terrace of the Elephants features steps of even length, allowing elephants ridden by servants and princes to tread quietly. The forest they travel through is impenetrable to all but the smallest creatures and the largest animals, which create paths through the vegetation.
Terrace of the Leper King - This terrace continues the theme of grandeur from Jayavarman VII’s reign, with dramatic bas-reliefs on both the interior and exterior walls. A second wall with similar bas-reliefs was discovered during clearing, believed to be evidence of later rites. A false corridor has been created to allow visitors to inspect the reliefs on the first wall.
Ta Nei Temple - Ta Nei is a late 12th-century stone temple built during the reign of King Jayavarman VII. Located near the northwest corner of the East Baray, it was dedicated to the Buddha.
Ta Prohm Temple - Known as the kingdom of the Trees, Ta Prohm has been left largely untouched by archaeologists, except for clearing paths for visitors and structural strengthening. The temple, shrouded in dense jungle, evokes the wonder of early explorers. Fig, banyan, and kapok trees spread their roots over stones, intertwining with the structures. The temple’s haunted charm is inescapable.
Banteay Kdei - Banteay Kdei, meaning “A Citadel of Chambers” or “Citadel of Monks’ cells,” is a Buddhist temple built on ground level as a monastery. The original design features a Central Sanctuary.
Srah Srang - Srah Srang is a baray or reservoir located south of the East Baray and east of Banteay Kdei.

Banteay Srei temple & Discover Angkor Grand Circle and watch sunset at Phnom Bakheng temple
Banteay Srei Temple - Known as a ‘precious gem’ and a ‘jewel in Khmer art,’ Banteay Srei was originally called Isvarapura. Built by a Brahmin of royal descent, it features exquisite decoration using hard pink sandstone, allowing for intricate carvings.
Banteay Samre - One of the most complete complexes at Angkor, Banteay Samre has been restored using anastylosis. The name refers to an ethnic group of mountain people related to the Khmers.
Pre Rup - Known for its bold architectural design, Pre Rup is almost identical in style to the East Mebon. It is the last real temple mountain and is associated with funerary rituals.
Ta Som - A small, quiet temple, Ta Som has not been restored. It features entry towers with carved faces and is surrounded by three enclosing walls.
Neak Pean - Neak Pean is a large square man-made pond surrounded by four smaller ponds. A small circular island with a stepped base is at the center, originally featuring small elephant sculptures.
Preah Khan - Located 2 kilometers northeast of Angkor Thom, Preah Khan was built in the second half of the 12th century by King Jayavarman VII, dedicated to his father. The Buddhist complex covers 56 hectares.
Phnom Bakheng - Phnom Bakheng is the perfect place to witness the sunset, offering views of Angkor Wat in the jungle. It is located south of Angkor Thom and close to Angkor Wat.
