- Wat Samrong Knong - Watch locals prepare bamboo sticky rice, a dessert or sweet snack known for its quality and delicious taste.
Next, visit Wat Samrong Knong, the oldest Buddhist temple in the area, built in 1707. Admire the brick stupa from 1887. Learn about the temple’s use during the Khmer Rouge regime (April 1975 to January 1979) as a base for soldiers and a detention area for victims. See the torture house and killing field where around 10,008 victims were killed.
Continue to a site where rice paper is produced, used for making spring rolls. Discover how villagers make at least 1500 rice papers a day. Try fresh and fried spring rolls.
- Ek Phnom - Take a short ride to a rice wine production site, operating since the 1980s. Learn about the production process and sample some rice wine. Hear about its use in medication and for soaking plants, fruits, and even poisonous animals like cobras and tarantulas. Visit a 25m high giant Buddha surrounded by standing Buddha statues. Walk to a beautiful Buddhist temple built in 1991 and see the Buddha story depicted on the walls. Explore the ruins of an 11th-century Angkorian Hindu temple built under King Suryavarman I. - Bamboo Train Ou Srauo Laou - Pass through beautiful villages, fruit plantations, rice fields, and a suspension bridge. Interact with local farmers.
