Wonderful Family Outing - Highly recommend! Our guide, Stan, was perfect. He was so knowledgeable about the ecology of the area but also vey humble, funny, and kind. The experience of snorkeling through a mangrove was incredibly special. Seeing all the different species and how the flora and fauna work in harmony was such a treat. Excellent experience all around. If bugs love you, definitely apply some reef safe deterrent before you go.

Fun activity for everyone - DE road is an experience in itself. When it has rained, the last part is slithering and sliding. The kayak EN is really fun and sometimes equally hard work. DE guide is passionate and sure to entertain you well.

Mangrove Clear Bottom Kayaking and Snorkeling Tour – Disappointing Guide Overshadowed a Cool Kayaking Experience - The highlight of this tour was definitely the clear bottom kayaking through the mangroves — it was unique, peaceful, and an interesting way to explore the area. Paddling through the mangrove tunnels felt immersive and unlike any other tour we’ve done. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn’t live up to expectations. The “snorkeling” portion was misleading. The tour description doesn’t clarify that you’ll be snorkeling in extremely shallow, cloudy water stirred up by people walking through the area. Visibility was poor, and it didn’t feel like a true snorkeling experience — something in deeper water would have made a big difference. However, the biggest issue was the guide. From the beginning, he was openly complaining about previous tour groups, saying how terrible guests from the cruise ship were (which we were on), and that this was the worst kind of group to lead. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional, especially since we were part of the group he was criticizing. At one point, my husband and I noticed the rest of the kayakers had fallen far behind — out of sight — and when we brought it up, he just rolled his eyes and said it was a “record” for the worst group he’d ever had. He continued to trash talk other guests, and even his boss, in front of everyone. The mangrove kayaking alone could have made this tour worthwhile, but the negative attitude of the guide and the underwhelming snorkeling made the overall experience disappointing. With a better guide and more accurate tour description, this could be a much better experience.

Nothing to see and bizarre guide!!!! - Do not do this. Two hours of kayaking in circles through mangroves that take you into areas where every person got dozens of mosquito bites. The “snorkel” spot is in the middle of the mangroves… nothing to see. We saw 1 fish. I shared a kayak with the guide and multiple discussions were had: Impregnating women, God, disciplining children, and how he suggests the local girls sleep with men travelers. After snorkel the entire crew was leaving and I was waiting for him to come into our kayak and he said “I can’t. I’m still peeing. Man, how much water did I drink today? Two gallons?” And started laughing. Extremely uncomfortable situation!! Would never recommend. Could not wait to get out of there!!
