With the guide, visitors will explore the three upper levels of the mine, ranging from 209 to 443 feet (64 to 135 meters) deep. The tour begins with a descent down the stairs to the first level, where participants will be led through chambers and shown underground lakes, shrines, and salt monuments. The highlight is the Chapel of St. Kinga, where every feature, from chandeliers to the altar, is crafted from salt. The guide will share the chapel’s history, including how it took over 30 years for two men to complete, using more than 200,000 tons of rock salt.
