Additional Information

Museum occupies the former enamel factory of Oskar Schindler, a German businessman who saved over a thousand Polish Jews during World War II. The museum’s immersive exhibition guides visitors through the wartime history of Krakow, detailing the establishment and liquidation of the Krakow Ghetto.

The museum’s permanent exhibition provides a comprehensive and immersive experience, taking visitors on a chronological journey through the wartime events that unfolded in Krakow. The narrative begins with the invasion of Poland in 1939, exploring the occupation and the establishment of the Krakow Ghetto. It delves into the lives of the Jewish population, the oppressive conditions they faced, and the eventual liquidation of the ghetto.

One of the most compelling aspects of the museum is its presentation of Oskar Schindler’s role in rescuing Jewish workers.

Definitely worth a visit - A very informative and interesting museum and definitely worth a visit. It focused mainly on the war and there wasn't that much information on Schindler which surprised me. There was lots of written information. I'm really glad I didn't do a tour as I wouldn't have had time to have read everything. There wasn't much space in the museum and so it was bit annoying when tour groups were passing through as they would take over a whole area and it made it harder to read some of the exhibits. I would allow 2 to 2.5 hours for a visit. I was worried that I hadn't booked tickets in advance but only had to wait about 15 minutes in the queue. I would highly recommend the museum.

Visit to Schindler’s factory, but coming away with so much more information than I might imagine - The museum, has lots of interesting, informative and thought provoking exhibits. Personally I would take a guided tour as the context and History that our guide Helena added to our visit was invaluable.

Interesting and Amazing visit. - A very interesting visit. More than just a detailed tour of the factory, but more of a history of Krakow prior to, and during the Nazi occupation. I was a little disappointed not to see a recreation of the factory production line, but got to see Schindler's office. Lots of interesting and poignant photographs and artifacts.

Worth a visit, lots of information. - First time visiting. A very interesting afternoon. The history of Krakow during the war. The rooms were decorated to represent different episodes, very well done. Our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting, so much to take in. I was hoping that we would see the factory and what that looked like. Unfortunately only the administration block remains. While the tour does share a Schindler’s story it is only part of the historical information on offer. Still worth a visit and very eye opening, the individual stories about some of the people on his ‘list’ was fascinating.

Schindler Museum guided tour - We had a guided tour but I would definitely recommend going under your own steam. We didn’t get chance to read the information.

Don’t bother with a guide and buy direct from the website! - Recently visited the factory and opted for the guided tour option as we didn’t anticipated any of the exhibitions would be in English. As it transpired, everything had an English translation, and using the guide meant we were rushed from room to room without any chance to look at the exhibition itself - they just gave a general overview of German Occupation in Krakow during the war, which you could have obtained anywhere. Considering it was £7 standard entry vs £25 guided tour, I would strongly recommend going with the standard option so you can enjoy at your own pace and save some money.

Okay experience - Was definitely worth a visit but the tour group i had chosen was a large group and the rooms were not big enough to accommodate all of us it was hard to hear what was being said and hard to see what was on the walls etc. A much smaller group would’ve been more than ideal

Very very crowded attraction - Some interesting facts and information about a very important aspect of ww2. Unfortunately even though we visited on a Thursday morning outside of school holiday time, the place was packed! A rabbit warren of narrow corridors meant having to say ‘excuse me’ many times as we had to push past people. We opted for a self guided tour but found that most people had bought a guided tour. This meant having to miss lots of areas of the factory where a guided tour was taking place. I guess the best option would be to arrive just before opening time for a more relaxed visit.

Disappointing - Was more of a tour of the Jewish population in krakow rather than schindlers life and business. Tour guide spoke quietly and seemed rushed- Kept looking at her watching during the tour and missed various things. I would honestly say it’s not worth it

Book Elsewhere - Extremely disappointed with this tour. I would suggest booking elsewhere and not through Viator or with Discover Cracow. They had me listed on the incorrect day in their system even though my reservation was correct so when we showed up they did not accept me on the tour and we had to pay for separate entry without a guide. They did not try to help me at all and left me there with zero phone service to be able to contact anyone from their company regarding their mistake. Once inside we caught up to the tour guide and I continued to explain to him we were meant to be on this tour so he finally said ok join us. His tour proceeded to be insensitive to the events that he was describing and he downplayed the entire Nazi occupation in Poland.
