- The Ghetto Heroes Square - Explore this symbolic square, once the site of the Krakow ghetto during World War II, where Jewish residents were confined. A visit here offers an opportunity to hear the guide’s narratives about the era, living conditions, and the fate of the inhabitants. The monument in the square, featuring 70 large, well-spaced metal chairs, serves as a poignant symbol of departure and absence, honoring the victims of the Krakow ghetto.
 - Ghetto Wall Fragment - Kraków’s most significant remnant of its ghetto is this 12-meter section of the original ghetto wall. In 1983, a commemorative plaque was installed, inscribed in Hebrew and Polish: “Here they lived, suffered, and died at the hands of the German oppressors. From here they began their final journey to the death camps.”
 - Eagle Pharmacy - Museum of Krakow - Between 1941 and 1943, this was the only pharmacy within the Kraków ghetto operated by a Pole who was permitted to remain in the area designated by the Germans exclusively for Jews. The pharmacy’s owner assisted many Jews by providing medicine, shelter, information, and facilitating contact with family members.
 - Plaszow Concentration Camp - While many tourists use Krakow as a base for visiting Auschwitz, few realize that Krakow itself has a former concentration camp nearby. Across the river in Podgórze, this vast area remains largely undeveloped, despite being in a prime commercial and residential district of the city—along the main thoroughfare (Wielicka Street), opposite a large shopping center (Bonarka), and near a major tourist attraction (Krakus Mound). This site was once the location of the ``Konzentrationslager Plaszow bei Krakau’’—the German Nazi concentration camp in Płaszów, now a wild, uneven expanse of land that until recently bore little indication of its existence or its wartime history.

Join a guided tour to discover the historic landmarks of the Jewish ghetto and one of the Nazi concentration camps from World War II. Start your adventure near Schindler’s Factory in Krakow’s Podgórze district. Although the local streets and alleys have evolved over time, they still hold traces of the tragic years when the Nazis confined thousands within the ghetto, later transporting them to concentration camps. Explore the remaining sections of the ghetto wall, the renowned square with its moving chair monument, and the Pharmacy Under the Eagle building, a symbol of hope during those bleak times.
Then, take a tram to Płaszów, the site of a former Nazi concentration camp situated in the Krakow suburbs, constructed on the grounds of old Jewish cemeteries. Płaszów functioned as a labor camp for various military factories and a quarry, as well as a site for the extermination of Jews deported from the ghetto.
