Good organization - despite we had booked the visit for 08.00 the day before we were spotted that it had been moved for 13.10 .. anyway punctuality of the bus in the meeting place (also convenient in our in Powia in front of a shopping center where we also took advantage of lunch); journey of about 1 hour and a half and comfortable to have already expired entrance ticket at times and small groups, we did not queue at the entrance. After visiting , independently (we were provided with a brochure in Italian before entering) Auschwitz we went to Birkenau using the convenient free shuttle, which leaves every 10 min About. Punctuality also for the meeting for the return and the escort, Adrianna, very helpful and present also on site.

Good experience, more info would have made it better - This was a good way to get to Auschwitz, and overall we enjoyed our self-guided experience. Our driver was very kind and drove safely, and the bus was comfortable. There were gaps in communication with the guide company, though, that would have made the trip much better. Firstly, we did not realize that our tickets would be for a time after our arrival and we had to wait outside for around 50 minutes before we could enter. We also were supposed to receive a guidebook according the listing details, but none were provided to us. Lastly, we were told that we needed to be back at the bus to go back to Krakow by 8:20 PM and were not told anything about when Auschwitz or Birkenau closed. Given the 8:20 PM timeline, we got on the shuttle to Birkenau around 7:00 PM. When we arrived at Birkenau we were told it was closing in 5 minutes so we did not really get to see it. Had we known that it would be closing we would have left earlier. Fine experience overall, but filling in those details for guests would have been helpful.

Disappointed. - No film was shown. I got the guide in English instead of German. Instead of 8:45 the tour started at 14:00 (arrived at 15:30 and back we were at 21:30). We got sweat instead of 2 hours - only 1 1/2 hours time. For the other 40 minutes instead of 1 1/2 hours,

Terrible - Our trip was terrible from start to finish. The trip was change and we were given less than 24 hours notice. We booked and paid for a hole day we got a few hours. We were given free entry tickets so could not go in till after 17.00 hours staff were finish so no one there to help if we got lost or had questions. We were given a guid book but we had to hand it back afterwards. We were given no audio guide either. I find it difficult to walk at pace that is why we booked the self guided tour so we could go at our own pace but we had to rush round so at not to miss coach back to krakow

Terrible experience! - I was informed about a change in schedule less than 24hours before the trip which resulted in me not being able to get a refund and I’m still talking with the support team which has been not helpeful at all!

An awful experience - It was an awful experience… REALLY AWFUL!!! Firstly, we were a group of 4 people and we booked our tickets separately. The day before our visit the two of us received a cancellation mail of their tickets, WITHOUT ANY REASON!!! They tried to contact the company directly and the customer service told them that they don’t have an answer to give them and that they can’t do anything… Secondly, our meeting time was at 7.30 and ONLY A FEW HOURS before it, we received a mail in which they informed us that our new meeting time was at 2.00 pm (6 ½ hours later than the normal time!!!). Thirdly (and after the change of the meeting time) the two of us who still had valid tickets (and not the cancelled ones…), arrived at Auschwitz at 3.30 pm and there, they just informed us that our entrance at the museum would have been at 5.30 pm. TWO HOURS AFTER OUR ARRIVAL THERE!!! They told us that we had these two hours for relaxing and eating at the local restaurant, without ANY REASON!!! So, although we had booked tickets for a full day of visiting the area, we finally were there at 5.30 pm and they informed us that we had only 1 hour into the museum – memorial of Auschwitz and about 50 – 55 minutes into Birkenau, because they whole area is opened until 7.30 pm…Eventually, while the initial plan (that we booked and paid) included 11-12 hours of duration (including the transport), we did a visit of 7,5 hours duration, including the useless relaxing time that WE DIDN’T WANT AND NEED!!! To conclude, please, AVOID this excursion and choose something else!!! Just try to book your tickets directly from the official page of Auschwitz – Birkenau and without using travel agencies, to ensure yourselves!!! BE CAREFUL!!!

Cancelled - The tour has been cancelled! I got a message 2 days before with the bad news saying that due to a for a force majeure event there were no tickets available on that date and that I would have the money back within 14 days. Waiting…

Activity suddenly cancelled the day before - Very unhappy with Viator. I had booked this tour for May 1st with French guide and round trip Krakow Auschwitz 15 days in advance. 2 days before the excursion, Viator cancelled our reservation, and offered me this same activity for 600€ (4 times the original price for 4 people). Deeming this fare exaggerated, I cancelled this second option proposed. On D-Day, we went to Auschwitz by bus, queued for 1 hour, and visited the 2 camps with an English guide for 125€, visit offered by the museum's reception. I'm never gonna go through Viator again, or tour operator like that. For me, this is a scam. I think they're overbooking, and therefore canceling reservations at the last minute. I recommend booking as soon as possible directly with the Auschwitz site.
