Fascinating Lantau Island - We loved the cable car. Make sure you book the Crystal Cabin, so you can look directly down. It’s a most unusual experience since it turns heading up towards the Big Buddha. Hoe you can get to the last remaining Fishing Village. We had a great lunch there family style. Our guide Becky was very helpful. She encouraged us to try a mango mochi. I found it delicious! We made it to the top of the Big Buddha!!

The trip to the big... - The trip to the big Buddha and the fishing village is a great trip -unfortunately the cable car wasn’t working but we was told in advance and given a new itenary using bus and taxi -we decided to still do the trip and we are glad we did.Tella was brilliant as a guide -working out the schedule and providing a very professional commentary and timely tour The trip was worth doing and we saw things that we would not have seen on Hong Kong island or Kowloon. The experience was great well done Tella

Exceptional Private Guide-Led Excursion to Big Buddha - Our party of two couples enjoyed a wonderful excursion to Lantau island with private guide, Bruce, who was exceptional. He met us at our hotel right at the agreed up arrival time and shepherded us by taxi to the Ngong Ping cable car. Upon arrival at the Big Buddha, he accompanied us on a short 10-min bus ride to Tai O fishing village where we went on a great 20 min boat ride to see the pink dolphins. Unfortunately, no pink dolphins were spotted, but the boat ride was still lots of fun and seeing the fishing village was very interesting. On our trip back to the Big Buddha, we first toured the very beautiful Po Li Monastey before ascending the 268 streps to see the Big Buddha. The weather was cloudy so visibility was poor at the top of the Big Buddha as well as on the round-trip cable car ride, but we still thoroughly enjoyed the day. Our guide, Bruce, was a wealth of information and took great care to explain everything that we were seeing. Instead of lunch at the Monastery, he suggested that we have lunch at a restaurant closer to our hotel in Kowloon. Lunch was absolutely delicious and was some of the best Chinese food that we encountered during our time in Hong Kong. If you take this excursion, you will be lucky if you get Bruce as your guide!

Excellent tour and brilliant guide - We really enjoyed this tour, especially because our guide, Becky, was excellent. We got picked up on time, the group was small and very friendly. We're happy that we chose the Crystal cable car because it was a wonderful ride up to near the big Buddha. The boat ride along the fishing village was lovely although we didn't get to see any dolphins. Lunch in the fishing village was delicious. The tour was well organised and made even better by the excellent Becky. Highly recommended.

Pretty, good views. - Overall fine, don't know if I'd do it again if I had a do-over. The timing and order of things is a bit fluid. Once you get to the top of the mountain, it's a public bus that takes you to the fishing village and it only runs every two hours so if you miss it things get shuffled. The "tour" is not SUPER Informative, your money is really just going towards them guiding you through all the different transportations needed. You could probably do it all yourself but I don't know it would cost much less and would be a headache. Be aware it can be very windy up there. Our guide Becky was very sweet and made sure we all got where we were going. At the last minute the tour company apparently changed their policy and instead of returning people to where they were picked up decided they would only drop everyone off at one place. Becky tried to push back and was unsuccessful. She ultimately was able to get a compromise to have the dropoff be at a place most convenient for most people. While not a big deal for me in this instance, concerning that the company wouldn't abide by the agreed upon itinerary that clearly said people would be returned to pickup locations.

Dont book this. Fraud - We booked this through Getyourguide. Showed up at the starting location 10 in accordance with the instructions. Waited for almost an hour but no guide shows up. Met several other tourists that had booked the same tour. Tried to contact Get your Guide and the local contractor but no response. Talked to another guide that we found from a different company and they say this has happened a lot and she thinks they have gone out of business. It has now gone a week. No response from Getyouguide and no refund

A poorly organized excursion - Line up to get on the cable car for more than 1 hour (there was a skip-the-line). Use of public transport to/from Tao Village, lunch in the village in a pseudo restaurant below the threshold of the dignified , a guide who probably would do better to change profession
