• Our Lady of the Rocks - Situated in the tranquil waters of the Bay of Kotor, Our Lady of the Rocks is a remarkable symbol of human faith and communal effort. This artificial island, created in the mid-15th century, was meticulously constructed by the dedicated people of Perast, a charming coastal village. These individuals, mainly military sailors under the Venetian Republic, were not only adept in warfare but also deeply connected to their religious beliefs and cultural traditions.

Inside the church, a treasure trove of culture and history awaits, beautifully decorated with oil paintings by Tripo Kokolja, a renowned local artist. The church also features an extensive collection of silver ex-voto gifts, each telling tales of danger, prayer, and divine intervention.

• Perast - Located on a peninsula that elegantly extends into the azure waters of the Adriatic, the village of Perast is a jewel in the Bay of Kotor, showcasing a mix of natural splendor and rich historical narrative. The Serbo-Croatian word for ‘finger,’ “prst,” seems to echo in the name Perast, aptly describing its geographic position pointing towards the Verige strait, known as the “Iron Gates.” This location, crucial for controlling access to the inner bay, underscores Perast’s historical significance under the Venetian Republic as an essential maritime guardian.

Despite its strong military history, Perast radiates baroque elegance. The village’s architecture skillfully blends aesthetic beauty with strategic defense. Each structure, from grand homes to sacred buildings, is designed with thick walls, gun ports, and strategic viewpoints. Even the esteemed Our Lady of the Rocks church is equipped with cannon ports, and its bell tower functions as a protective watchtower.

• Pescatore Oysters & Mussels Farm - The tour concludes with a serene visit to a small, family-operated mussel farm located on the shoreline of the inner bay. Nestled against the lush hillside and surrounded by calm, clear waters, this rustic location offers a peaceful and genuine atmosphere. Here, visitors can relax by the sea and savor a plate of freshly prepared local mussels, harvested directly from the bay and served with a glass of crisp white wine. The setting is simple and picturesque—wooden tables, boats gently swaying nearby, and views of pristine nature. • Swimming around Our Lady of the Rocks / usage of drones is prohibited
• We recommend wearing warmer clothing outside summer months, as it can be chilly on the open water
• Pickup is not possible at every pier. We will advise you what are the safe options near you.
• Our Lady of the Rocks Church has variable working hours during the year. Check with us, if you want to go inside.
• The remaining tour time includes the speedboat ride from Kotor to our first stop, the ride time between stops and the return journey back to starting point
