  • Tomioka Hachiman Shrine - This is the largest Hachimangu shrine in Edo, and the “Fukagawa Hachiman Festival” held in August is one of the three major festivals in Edo. It is also the birthplace of Edo Kanshin Sumo, featuring numerous stone monuments related to sumo, including the Yokozuna Sumo Wrestler Monument.
  • Fukagawa Fudodo - Located in the Fukagawa district of Tokyo, Fukagawa Fudōdō is a historic temple formally known as the Fukagawa Fudō-ji Temple. It is a significant Shingon Buddhist temple dedicated to Fudō Myōō (Acala), a wrathful deity believed to offer protection and remove obstacles. The temple dates back to the early Edo period (1603-1868), having been established in 1681, and has served as an important spiritual center in the Fukagawa area for centuries.
  • Fukagawa Enmado - Hojoin Temple houses the largest seated statue of King Enma in Japan. The current statue, erected in 1989, was the first in Japan to feature a system where visitors can listen to various sermons from the Buddha in exchange for a monetary donation in response to 9 prayers. The statue is renowned for its special blessings to ward off and seal off evil and is trusted by the public as one of the three Enma statues of Edo.
  • Fukagawa Edo Museum - This museum showcases a life-size reproduction of a town from the end of the Edo period (Tempo era). Visitors can enjoy a “hands-on” exhibition room where they can explore stores and row houses and interact with daily utensils, as well as experience a changing day scene with sound and lighting. The museum is closed on Mondays, and alternative locations will be provided for Monday tours upon request.
  • Kiyosumi Teien - Kiyosumi Garden (Teien), situated in the Koto ward of Tokyo, is a historic and beautifully landscaped Japanese garden. It is famous for its classical design and serene atmosphere, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists.
