Recommended and well organized volcanic tour with impressive scenery - Recommended, everything worked great with hotel pickup and access by bus and boat. Volcanic island very worth seeing and an experience of a different kind - very impressive. A little tip for returning from Nisyros by boat: Not sitting on the deck is wilder than any white water track. The captain had warned us :)

Nice to have seen. - Very nice excursion to nisyros, you will be taken by bus to EN boat and from the island by bus to DE crater. EN and return 4h in total been on the road. At DE crater you have 40min DE time to visit DE surroundings. More DAN enough time crater smells like sulfur and you've seen it quickly. After this we had 3h DE to EN and walk around in the town of Mandraki. Town in touristy EN quite pricey. Bus was on time day in advance EN got notified where and what time we were picked up. DE price via TripAdvisor saves almost 50eu pp with DE local or tui price.

Amazing - but take good shoes / fans / hat & water to enjoy it. - This was a multi-generational family day trip ranging from 7 -70+years. Reading the itinerary half the group were dubious, but despite that we set of on our trip (organised by TUI). We were collected by coach from the hotel for the short trip to Kardamena docks to meet Anna-Marie and board the ferry. Two of the group are prone to sea sickness, and at some points on the way out it was a little bouncy, both were fine! Docking on the volcanic island of Nisyros we started with guided tour of Mandraki, afterwards we chose to pay €2 to visit the monastery, before having a lunch and drink and heading by coach to Nikia village. Nikia is very tiny & quiet, the streets full of traditional architecture and there is a church you can look into - it is also the first glimpse you have of the crater. The coach then headed to the crater - as expected it was hot & smelly! By the time we arrived it was 5pm and we were glad we had avoided the hottest part of the day. Again there was a snack bar and toilets. We caught the 7:30pm ferry back to Kardamena - tired, but everyone thought the trip was amazing.

Recommended! - Had a great day. Mandraki is a picturesque and photogenic village with nice little streets and squares. The visit to the volcano was very nice and special. The only small flaw about this day was the order. My preference was to visit the volcano first and then explore Mandraki. But we had a great day that we would not have missed!!

A good day trip - Well organised trip, interesting crater, nice village in Nisyros and easy walk up to the monastery but the group was far too large, led by one tour guide, Martha.

Unique experience, recommended. Coach transfer to Kardamena port from Psalidi took 90 mins, as stopped at every hotel - Boat takes an hour each way from Karadmena Port. We had the coach transfer from our resort in Psalidi, and it took over 90 mins, as stopped at seemingly every resort on the Island. Boat was a small ferry type thing. Had about 2 hours to wander around Nisyros , which is pretty with a few cafes, restaurants and a tiny pebbly beach. We had lunch there. Some people went up to the Monastery; there was an additional charge for this (3.50 each i think). We didn't, and instead had a look round some (expensive) tourist souvenir shops. Nice place with different pace of life to Kos. Then coach to the crater, where it's 5 euro for adults and kids 12 years or older Don't go in flip flops or sliders, as the walk into the crater is scree and gravel and a little steep in places. If you slip over because you worse flip flops/sliders, you'll really graze/cut yourself on the sharp rock. Common sense really! We walked up to the other crater as well, but we're pushed for time as only had 40 mins there. Then coach back to Port for Boat home. When we got into Kardamena harbour, we thought we would have a drink in one of the bars, then get a taxi back to resort, as much quicker than the coach transfer. We also went in some souvenir shops and were tempted by dinner in one of many tavernas. Tried to find a taxi in Kardamena: nightmare. Literally waiting at the one and only taxi rank, for 90 mins, and was a free for all with people jumping queue etc. 43euro back to Psalidi. Do not recommend trying to get a taxi in Kardamena!!!

Good experience overall but be careful because DE mass excursion - Relatively long journey to get there from DE Kos. Good experience on site to discover the village DE Nisyros and volcano. Very good organization. Please note that the price includes only (DE mass) transport. Too much crowding which distorts the excursion. However, we prefer excursions on a human scale

experience to tick off - Great experience but it was a very hot day so bear that in mind as there is no shade at the volcano. I took a sun brolly, and water and cooling spray!
