- Postojna Cave - Postojna Cave, the queen of all caves, is the best-known cave in the world. It is also the greatest tourist attraction in Slovenia and one of the world’s largest karst monuments. This is the only place in the world where the underground landscape can be traversed on an electric train and where you get to meet this underground kingdom’s most famous inhabitant – the proteus (olm) – up close. A fantastic web of tunnels, passages, galleries and halls, astonishing diversity of karst features, as well as easy access are certainly the main reasons for such popularity of the cave and a large number of visitors (more than 36 million of them in over 200 years).
- Predjama Castle - The Predjama Castle reigns over the surrounding area, not far from the Postojna Cave, in the idyllic village of Predjama. This picturesque, magnificent, defiant, mysterious and impregnable castle has been perched up in the middle of a vertical 123-meter high cliff for more than 800 years. Its romantic appeal is further emphasized by the idyllic Lokva River, which disappears into the underground world deep down below the castle. As the only preserved cave castle in Europe, the Predjama Castle offers a unique insight into the building techniques and resourcefulness of people in the Middle Ages, who were looking for and found a safe harbor for themselves right at the entrance into the cave. During a siege that took place in the 15th century, the castle provided a refuge for its best known and most notorious owner - Erazem of Predjama. The legend about the courageous robber baron Erazem, who remained undefeated until one of his servants betrayed him, is still in people’s minds, inspiring and alluring as ever. It was this safe abode of his which helped the brave knight resist the besiegers without much difficulty for more than a year.

Cave & Castle experience - This is a unique, beautiful experience. We were part of 14, 2 vans. Barbara & Jana were our informative guides/drivers.

This was a much bigger... - This was a much bigger group than expected. It was a bus. But it was a great adventure! The castle was great but did have lots of Stairs to climb. Not a problem with my group though. And the caves were beautiful and cold. Bring a jacket unless you want to buy one

The caves and castle were... - The caves and castle were amazing!
Only thing is that it was very cold so take a big jacket and long pants. It gets pretty cold in the caves. Ernest was a very nice tour guide.

Our small group (8) was... - Our small group (8) was so much easier (and cheaper) than the larger groups we took off of our Viking cruise. We learned more in the small group and had more time seeing and doing than the ship's tour groups. Our guide Ernest was terrific!

Worst Tour Guide EVER!!! - The sites on the tour were incredible and a must see. The tour was completely unorganized and the tour guide was AWFUL!! First the tour was supposed to be 5 hours and it lasted almost 7 hours. We wasted almost an hour waiting for the caves to open when we could have gone to the castle first and not had to wait. The tour guide previously played the role of Charlie Brown's teacher in the Peanuts cartoons. I'm not exaggerating when I say she said "um and uh" a 1000 times. Not to be out done "basically" was said probably 150 times. I was so jealous my wife brought her headphones and didn't have to listen to the senseless rambling for almost 2 hours, 1 hour each way. She also changed her mind on meeting spots in both locations 4-5 times causing confusion among most of the travelers. I was never so happy to get off the bus and return to port. Again, the sites again are highly recommended, just pray you don't get the tour guide we had. Excruciatingly painful.

Very disappointed about info and customer service - Booked a trip from Koper and in advert it is said that:
"Start:Multiple pickup locations offered.
Pickup details
- The pickup is flexible (any hotel, apartment, cruise terminal, bus station, train station etc.).
- For Cruise Passengers the tour departs from Cruise Passenger Terminal in Koper, Slovenia. Your guide will be holding a sign with KoperTrips and Viator logos.
- For Hotel Guests the departure location is flexible. Please advise supplier as soon as possible your hotel details or any other preferred pickup location.
Hotel pickup offered
End:This activity ends back at the meeting point."
PLEASE ALL NOTE THAT Hotel pick up is ONLY from hotels in Koper, although the announcement ALSO ALLWOS you to choose a hotel OUTSIDE of Koper! In advert it has not been said in any way! So our trip was cancelled by travel agency because I questioned the system, they never answered any of my questions. So apparently because I was a "difficult customer" they decided to cancel our trip even though I was willing to figure out how to get to the meeting point!
0/5!

Avoid this trip - A terrible experience. Collected in a bus with no air conditioning, it was ridiculously hot ! We then had to pick up other guests 45 minutes away !
After coming out of the caves ( which are fabulous) , the bus driver was an hour and fifteen minutes late as he’s left to pick up school children from the local school !
The journey back took hours as again we had to detour to drop off other cruise passengers . The result was a 5 hour tour actually took 8 hours !!
I would 100% NOT RECOMMEND this trip .
Ernest the young guide was wonderful and did his best with what was a group of very unhappy customers

Avoid this tour operator - Great guide, amazing caves and castle, but a lousy tour operator, which took away from the experience. A 5 hour tour turned into 8 due to a series of lazy decisions and poor planning by the tour operator. Unscheduled bus pick- ups and stops, bus delays (driver didnt return after lunch), and 3-4 hours in a hot (un air conditioned) bus led to a sweaty and cranky set of passengers. Apparently, not the first time, so avoid this operator and go with someone else.
