• Kissamos - After a 3-hour and 30-minute drive, we arrive at Kastelli-Kissamos. From the port, we board a boat to sail around the Gramvousa peninsula.
• Gramvousa Beach - Gramvousa Island is linked to the fight for Crete’s liberation from Ottoman rule. For three years, 3,000 revolutionaries used the island as a refuge and resorted to piracy to address food shortages. Today, Gramvousa is a crucial bird habitat in the Eastern Mediterranean, situated along a major bird migration route. It is home to over 100 bird species and 400 plant varieties. The island features one of Crete’s most impressive castles, perched 137 meters above sea level. The 15-minute hike up the footpath is well worth it, but appropriate footwear and a hat in summer are recommended.
• Balos Lagoon - Next, we take a short boat trip to the stunning Balos Lagoon, known for its shallow, warm waters and beautiful scenery. Here, you can swim in the crystal-clear waters of western Crete and relax on the white sandy beach.

We disembark at the island of Gramvousa also known as the “pirates’ island”. You can admire the famous fortress of Gramvousa built by the Venetians in 1579 high on a rock and if you want, you can climb up to admire the magnificent view. After our exploration of the area, you have plenty of time to enjoy our swim at the gorgeous beach with the wonderful colors or have lunch aboard.
