Guests will be picked up from their hotel in Kingston. The meeting will take place in the lobby, where a brief five-minute overview of the tour will be provided, questions will be answered, and then boarding of the transport will occur. As soon as the hotel is left behind, the tour guide will begin sharing insights about the areas being passed. Twenty minutes into the journey, while traveling through the mountains, the first stop will be at a lookout point offering views of the eastern side of the city, along with information about its landmarks, areas, and history. This is a perfect spot for photos, and assistance with photography will be gladly provided. Ten minutes later, the journey continues through “Irish Town,” a quaint village historically and currently used by affluent Kingstonians to escape the city’s heat, leading to the second lookout point with stunning views of the lush valleys and peaks of the Blue Mountains. After a brief five-minute stop, the drive continues for another half hour, ascending to over 3,500 feet to the old British barracks and parade ground in New Castle, St. Andrew. Here, visitors can enjoy southern views of Kingston, see Regimental insignias from Colonial times, the highest point on the western side of the Blue Mountains, and an old seventeenth-century cannon. This location is ideal for taking numerous photos. Once done, the journey resumes with a fifteen-minute drive to the UNESCO National Park grounds, the destination for hiking, bird watching, and connecting with nature. From the park, the western side of Kingston is visible, completing the panoramic view. The stay here typically lasts up to two hours. Afterwards, the group will head back down the mountain, with an optional stop for a meal at a local spot, usually taking less than an hour. Finally, forty-five minutes later, guests will be dropped off at their hotel and escorted into the lobby, where the hotel staff will be informed of their safe return.
