Highly recommended tour! - The bus ride from O'Connor's Pub left on time with the driver giving us a bit of the history of the town. The walk was strenuous in one part, but very scenic. It took me two hours and twenty minutes of steady going so I had plenty of time to get something to eat and drink at Lord Brandon's Cottage. It is not a full service restaurant, but you can certainly get a light lunch. Service with a smile. The boat ride through the three lakes was just beautiful with our guide stopping in a few places to let us know about some points of interest. The weather meant the boat ride was a little rough in parts, but I was never concerned at any time. I think this is one of the most beautiful tours I've been on and definitely recommend it.

Fantastic scenery and wonderful boat journey - Very well organised trip. We were picked up at our hotel by mini bus. The driver gave us interesting commentary on the way to the start of the walk.
We chose to walk to Lord Brandon’s cottage rather than take a jaunting car.
We were blessed with glorious weather.
The boat trip down through the lakes was fabulous. Again great commentary from our guide. Would highly recommend.

Awesome - It was a great walk to the top of the gap. Beautiful views and an awesome environment.
Low traffic. The tour in the boat was fantastic, a must. Even if it was raining, we could enjoy very much passing through the 3 lakes.

Magical Trip by Water & on Foot - An excellent way of exploring this beautiful location. We chose to walk from Lord Brandon’s cottage (where the boat dropped us) to Kate Kearney’s Cottage, a distance of 11km. The walk was fairly easy for the most part though the ascent to the Head of the Gap is quite strenuous. It took us nearly 3 hours which meant we only had 10 minutes to spare for the scheduled departure time of the bus back to Killarney. It would have been nice to have had an extra half hour at KK’s cottage to get a drink after the walk. A special mention for the guide on the boat - he was excellent- knowledgeable, amusing with some fascinating anecdotes about the area.

Don't miss this! - Very worthwhile day. A great package of activities that included: viewing the castle, an interesting group boat trip, hike at your own pace through the stunning scenery of the Gap, a rewarding pub/cafe at the end - all with buses to take you to and from the town of Killarney. If you are fit and energetic with good footwear, don't miss the 2-3 hour hike component through the dramatic mountains of the Dunloe Gap. Highly recommended.

A perfect trip on a beautiful day - We walked the 7 miles through the Gap on a beautiful day as we were staying close to Kate Kearney's Cottage. Beautiful scenery and a relatively easy walk with not too many hills to climb. Left KKs at around 9.15 and arrived at Lord Brandon's Cottage (tea rooms) about 12 where we had soup and a sandwich. We enjoyed the 1.5 hour boat trip even though the seats were very hard. The scenery was spectacular. Then the minibus qas ready at Ross Castle to return us to Kate Kearney's, dropping others off at various points in Killarney.

Crazy emotion - We participated in this trip through the reviews seen on trips to the Killarney area, the boat trip is crazy, you see breathtaking landscapes that only so you can see, if you opt to go back once you arrive with the boat to your destination on foot, we talk about 3.5 hours / 4 and it is really tiring because there are several climbs, another option there are carriages with horses but are expensive as fire, but you can bargain .. the trip itself for 2 adults and 2 children including coach cost 158 €. 128 + 30 bus. Experience beautiful but extremely expensive.

Double confirm pick up time - The boat tour and walk through the gap were amazing. The boat driver was friendly and helpful. We arrived at Kate Kearneys 45 minutes before our pick up time which we were told twice was 4.30 . We got a drink and waited ,however the bus didn't show up. When we eventually rang we were told to get a lift or a taxi back into town as we had missed the bus. A taxi back to town cost us 40 euro as traffic was heavy. From reviews here I can see this has happened to other people so be careful when booking this tour.

Approximate organization - If you pass through Killarney, you need to plan this day, boat-walk-bus, the site is absolutely splendid, we particularly enjoyed the 1h30 boat ride. Unfortunately, the organization was more than approximate and the information very imprecise, despite the questions asked (and asked) about the "meeting point". Arriving at the Gap, we exchanged with several customers just as undecided as us on the follow-up to be given to the hike. Misinformation -> we met at Brandon's Cottage at 4 p.m., without a bus return solution and the organizer, contacted by phone and very angry, let us down (basically, I can't pick you up, manage...). It was thanks to the assistance of the cottage manager (who contacted a taxi for us because no network) that we joined our car. An extra hour walk + 35 euros taxi back to Killarney, to the O'Connel pub where no one showed up to at least refund us the bus. Obviously, according to the cottage people and the taxi, this mishap is common. I therefore strongly suggest that you go through an organisation other than the one based in pub 7 High Street.
