• Loop Head Lighthouse - One of our knowledgeable local guides will escort you up the 74 steps of the Lighthouse explaining the history of the building and the lives of the Lighthouse Keepers and their families.

You will then go out on the balcony which is 23m above ground level where on a good day you can see views from as far south as the Blasket Islands to the 12 pins of Connemara in the north.

If you are very lucky you might see a pod of dolphins or a whale pass.

When you return from the Tower you are free to explore the Exhibition Centre, the shop and picnic area and the headland at your leisure.

After marveling at the scenery of the Loop Head Peninsula on their journey to the Lighthouse visitors will be struck by the quiet, isolation and powerful beauty of our location. They will then be taken on a tour by our knowledgeable, local guides where they will learn about more than 350 years of history and the lives of the Keepers and their families. They will be taken up the tower and out onto the balcony to be inspired by the magnificent views and the forces of nature. Finally they will be left to explore the Exhibition Centre, Picnic Area and Shop at their leisure.
