- Nyamirambo Women’s Center (NWC) - Established in late 2007 by 18 Rwandan women residing in Nyamirambo, Kigali, the Nyamirambo Women’s Center (NWC) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to combating gender-based violence, inequality, and discrimination. The center’s mission is to offer education and vocational training to women who cannot afford it, thereby enhancing their employment prospects.
- Biryogo - A vibrant, car-free street in Kigali, Biryogo is renowned as a cultural and culinary hub of the city, offering a diverse array of experiences.
- Kigali City Market - The Kigali City Market is an excellent place to explore. The upper levels resemble a mall, while the ground floor hosts a variety of vendors selling food and household items.
Traders are friendly and do not overly pressure visitors, making it easy to take photos. There is a wide range of items to see, along with a few places to eat and drink. Although not a typical tourist spot, it offers fruit, tea, coffee, honey, and more for sale. Prices are reasonable with little room for negotiation, but there is also less pressure to purchase.
This market is a wonderful place to explore, with no real need for a guide or local companion, as it is safe, well-lit, and has excellent security.
