A great experience and an absolute must do! Very professional company! - A lovely experience all around. Universal was very professional and arranged the permit for the gorilla park. The car was very comfortable and everything was arranged very smoothly. Christian was a very good guide and was great company for the journey too and was happy to explain and discuss all facets of Rwanda and its history. Gorilla experience was absolutely surreal - highly recommend it!

Unforgettable Gorilla Trek with John – The Ultimate Guide! - I had the privilege of going on a Gorilla Trek today with John as my guide, and it was an absolutely flawless experience from start to finish! John picked me up right on time at 4:30 AM, fully prepared for the adventure ahead. Knowing I had forgotten my gaiters at home, he thoughtfully lent me a pair, and he even had water bottles ready for me to take on the trek. Afterward, when my boots were caked in mud, he had slippers on hand for me to change into—such a thoughtful touch! At the national park, John expertly coordinated with the park guides to get me into a fantastic trekking group, ensuring the best possible experience. He then drove us to the hiking point, where the park guides took over. The trek itself was absolutely breathtaking—I had the incredible privilege of seeing a group of gorillas up close, an experience I’ll never forget. On the way back, John went above and beyond once again, taking me to a great restaurant for lunch. During our five hours in the car together, we had an amazing conversation. I bombarded him with questions about Rwanda, and he answered each one with enthusiasm, sharing fascinating insights about the country and its culture. John’s attention to detail, kindness, and preparedness made this an unforgettable day. If you’re planning a Gorilla Trek in Rwanda, you couldn’t ask for a better guide. 5 stars all the way!

One of the best experiences of my life! - This experience will leave you speechless and if you're here for an answer to the big question; YES, the price of the permit is definitely worth it. Our driver picked us up in Kigali early in the morning for a drive to Volcanoes National Park in Northern Rwanda. There, we met our ranger guide and they paired us with other people who would be visiting the same family. The trek began by driving about an hour up rough, dirt roads to the trail head where we were given walking sticks and the option to hire a porter (10 USD) to help carry your bags. The hiking time is dependent on the family you visit and can be anywhere from 45 minutes to three hours. We were fortunate and seen a family that was lower on the mountain and only had to walk about an hour from the trail head to the families location in the park. Words cannot describe how amazing this experience was. We were fortunate to visit the famous Susa Family and the ability to stand 3 feet from a Silverback and observe how the babies, females and juveniles interact in their home, was truly a privilege. These beautiful animals welcomed us into their home and allowed us to share an hour with them. The ranger and trackers are well equiped for your protection (machetes to cut thought the jungle and AK47s to guard the family from poachers). There was not a single moment I felt unsafe or uncomfortable and the staff shared in our excitement. Tips are expected but there is no pressure on how much to give (we did 5,000 RWF per tracker and 10,000 RWF for the ranger/guide and our driver). Tipping in foreign currency should only be done in USD. This was one of the best things I've done in my life and is something I will never forget. The experience is breath taking and hard to put into words just how amazing it was. If you have the time and the means, visit the mountain Gorillas in Volcanoes National Park is a must do when in Rwanda.

Just had a day as an extension of business trip. It was worth of all. - They picked me up at exact time. Very comfortable ride from Kigali, it's a long one but I felt quite safe. It took an army of guides, rangers and porters to help everyone to ensure that we had the gorilla family in close capture, but safety as the priority. The time (12 hours), money and rough terrain are all worth it. The entire team made it a great experience.

Universal's 1 Day Gorilla Trek - Spectacular !!!!!!! - A trip of a life time to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda to see the mountain Gorillas, on Universal's 1 day Gorilla Trekking Tour. This company is fantastic from my initial enquiries in the UK organising the trip, to dropping me off back at my hotel in Kigali there were no problems whatsoever. The communication from the team is excellent, they are very quick at replying to messages, its done via WhatsApp and explain everything in as much detail as you need. The driver was early picking me up at the hotel and when we got to the meeting point of the trip he organised everything, had the necessary permits ready and explained the process clearly. I highly recommend this company, they will make a truly wonderful experience even better with their friendliness, organisation and reliability.

Beautiful experience - We were traveling with Universal ventures Rwanda to Akagera NP, Nyungwe NP, Volcanoes NP and we rented car from them. Everything was perfect. We had wonderful guide Shadady, who was great, told us a lot about Rwanda, showed us beautiful places and took good care of us. Emmanuel, the owner of the company, was in touch with us through the whole trip. I recommend this company as a reliable tour organizer. Thank you Shadady and Universal ventures Rwanda for making our stay in Rwanda beautiful.
