Akagera National Park - Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park and Night Game Drive
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali and drive you to Akagera National Park. You’ll arrive at your lodge in time for check-in and lunch. In the evening, you have two options:

1. Embark on your first game drive. The Night Game Drive is particularly thrilling as you use spotlights to observe the nocturnal creatures of Akagera National Park. A night drive offers a unique experience compared to the day, with a good chance to see predators hunting for their next meal.

Akagera National Park - Enjoy a sunset boat ride, spending an hour on the lake visiting an island teeming with birds, and passing by hippos and crocodiles. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Sunrise Game Drive or Boat Ride on Lake Ihema

Wake up early and choose between two options:

1. A Sunrise Game Drive to spot early risers like lions, elephants, buffalo, hyenas, and various antelopes grazing freely in the park.
   Meal plan: Lunch and breakfast
   Accommodation: Akagera Game Lodge or Karenge Bush Camp

Akagera National Park - Alternatively, opt for a Morning Boat Ride, spending an hour on the lake visiting an island full of birds, and passing by hippos and crocodiles. Afterward, drive back to Kigali and be dropped off at your hotel or the airport for your afternoon flight.
